Need registration key file?

Hi,

I purchased Shadow Plan for Palm about 10 years ago, and the Desktop Expansion about 5 years ago. My PC recently crashed and I can no longer use Shadow desktop. I would like to have access to my old lists, so I downloaded the zip from the website, but of course it is no longer registered. Would it be possible for me to obtain a key file, since the registration code I have isn't any use since I don't use the Palm anymore? Thanks.

First try this tool to get it:
    http://shadow.skeleton.org/cgibin/codejedi_registration_request.cgi

Hopefully you will know the email address you used 10 years ago.

I found the registration code through that tool, but I believe I'm supposed to enter that code into my Palm and then hotsync? So it won't work for me because I don't have a Palm anymore - I just want to use the Desktop version by itself.

Open up the desktop app, and in the Expert Console it should show
a path to a key file (ShadowPlan.reg say); create that file in the rigth
place with notepad, and drop your Palm registration code in that file.
Thats enough to tell the Desktop to 'stop bugging me' and you should be
        fine.

Its entirely possible; if folks like Shadow Desktop, I could port

Theres probably better (more mature) software for linux around
that'd work on Pandora, but Shadow Desktop is certainly doable ;)

I have a Linux version of Shadow, but I guess maybe it is old: 4.3.9
I forget when I got it. Maybe that was back in the days when we were
testing. I don't see it on the download page.

Pandora is ARM based, so an x86 build wouldnt' work at all.

Shadow Desktop is also QT 3.x based (3.3.x IIRC), and QT4.x is
current (4.6 and 4.7 in most places), and porting source from QT4 to QT4
is non-trivial (trust me, I looked, many years ago :)

Still, it would be pretty easy to port QT3.x to Pandora and build
              Shadow Desktop against that.

If anyone with a Pandora (other than me ;) shows up, let me know
              ;)

You could always use the desktop emulator from Palm to sync and load the
                key.

                    Archos palm-sized tablet

This Archos palm-sized tablet looks interesting to me.
                    http://www.archos.com/products/ta/archos_32it/specs.html?country=us&lang=en

I'm not wanting a palm with phone. This has wireless and runs Android.
Anyone have one or know about it?

I really am not that interested in video/audio. Could be nice for
occasional surfing. Mainly I'm looking for Datebook/Contacts/Memos.
Mainly I like the size. Just curious if you've seen it, because this is
the first I've heard. I'm not sure what the market is out there for
these since I guess so many people are used to the smartphone thing, but
I just do not want to pay for that kind of connectivity.

                    Thanks,
                    Anita
