Help! SP Lists on HH cause resets!

All of a sudden - when I open a SP list, I'll either -
- get the "Sever all broken links" message....when I click on either
OK or Sever, I get a reset message
- or, I'll open the file but then it will immediately reset the HH
(power off and then power on)

So, I can't use any of my SP files on the handheld.

I've tried this both with SP lists I:
- use everyday on the HH
- use/access frequently on the DT
- haven't accessed on either the HH or the DT for a while

Some of these lists have items linked to Pimlico Datebook - but other
lists that I've tried aren't linked. I think, but haven't tested
extensively, that linked files get the first error message, while
unlinked files cause the second problem.

I'm using a Tungsten T3, SP 4.1.1 HH and DT.

This is a brand new problem which just started happening today!
I've tried synchronizing...and also synchronizing by copying the DT
files over the handheld. No luck.

The only difference I can see is that I'm using a wireless access
today...and, after synchronizing yesterday, I first accessed a few
files on the DT. Then I synchronized to get the updated files on the
HH and .....see the above problem.

Anyone have any ideas? Is this a data corruption problem? A

	Applications that do linking actually look in the standard PIM
databases; most apps live on top of those.. ie: DateBk5, Agendus,
TodoPlus, etc etc just are different interfaces to the standard data. A
number of apps use their own data, and may or may not provide access to
it.. but generally do not. I'm not sure if DAyNotez is using its own data
or the traditional PIMs, but if its doing its own thing, then theres not a
lot of options.

	Shadow will have longer notes soon.

DayNotez has its own database and doesn't use the standard memo database.

Shadow desktop & tags & Ecco Pro

Hi group,

Being a fervent user of Shadow Plan, I'm sure I haven't really
discovered all the ins & outs of Shadow Plan;
It is via Shadow Plan that I first learned about tags...
I do remember that tags were available on one of the previous desktop
versions.

Being an organiz(er)ing addict, I started using Ecco Pro somewhere 6 -
7 months ago, and it is a really, really tremendous experience to work
with it. Admittedly the learning curve is higher than usual.
There's an Ecco Pro group here at Yahoo too, and Will Sargent
(http://tersesystems.com/) has already set up a way to sync between
Shadow Plan and Ecco, via XML. (I have not been able to test it yet)

The combination of Shadow Plan and Ecco would definitely be a super
killer combination, as both can use the 'tag' philosophy!!!

Important to know is also the fact that out of the old Ecco Pro
remainders (Still alive after Netmanage abandoned Ecco commercially
+/- 1996 1997) a new Open Source Ecco is rising step by step...

Perhaps, (Jeff :-)) a positive counterpart for Shadow Plan??

One question / plea though?
When will tags be supported in Shadow Desktop again?

Jeff,

I am in the UK - we currently have DST and are plus five hours over 
EST (also with DST).  So, the time here is around 18:10 and in New 
York it is around 13:10.  My T3 has the "Prefs" setting of London 
2/5/05 and 18:10 for location, date and time respectively (date is in 
dd/mm/yy format).  I also run Datebk5 (probably irrelevant) and the 
current time zone is set to +00:00 with DST (where +00:00 is the 
offset from UTC).  Are there any Shadow settings which would be 
helpful here?

My PC has date/time settings of GMT (equivalent to UTC) with 
automatic adjustment for DST.

Sorry all - it was just that the memory on the handheld was full...I
forgot to switch my voice recorder to store files on the expansion
card rather than in main memory.

Importing ToDo's

Hi guys,
I am looking for some assistance with importing ToDo's into Shadow.  
First some setup info:
Device: Treo 650
Use SPHH (v4.1.1) & SPDT (v4.1.3)
I also use DateBk5 (v5.4) for all tasks and calendar stuff
Sync to MS Outlook 2000 using PocketMirror XT Pro (v3.1.10)

I have one master list for all task/project management in Shadow.  
Unfortunately, when I started this list up, I didn't import all my 
ToDo's (just one category).  I wanted to be more comfortable with how 
the app worked before I brought over my hundreds of ToDo's.  I did 
not have the options Auto-Import New ToDo's or Export New Shadow 
Items set.  I have manually imported a few dozen ToDo's into Shadow 
using the New...From feature within my Master List, but most of my 
ToDo's are still in my ToDo list.

I'm pretty comfortable with Shadow now and want to get all my stuff 
in there.  I found an item in the ShadowTips list about how to import 
all ToDo's that were not already in Shadow by using the Import Marked 
ToDo's feature and prefixing all ToDo's with the destination list.  
However, I have over 600+ ToDo's that I'd like to import into 
Shadow.  I'd like to avoid having to paste the file prefix to 600 
items in Outlook.  Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I have a mix of categories and dates already imported 
into Shadow (and the same mix waiting to be imported), which makes 
using New...From harder (plus I'd have to manually add all 600 items 
using this feature).  I don't want to start from scratch because my 
Master List contains a lot of items that are not ToDo's and would not

Implementing GTD with Shadow

I recently read "Getting Things Done" by David Allen and decided to 
implement his concepts using Shadow, which has been my organizer for 
some time now. I decided to keep my existing lists, one for Home and 
one for Work. Each list has top-level parent items that are 
categories. For example, under Home, I have top-level items Church, 
Bike Club, Home Maint, Routine (for repeating items, with repeats 
managed by the Palm To Do list), School & Misc. I use Tags and Views 
to accomplish the GTD lists. 

I have the following tags:

Category: GTD Status, Tags: Someday / Maybe, Tickler, Waiting For. I 
don't have a tag for Next Steps. If it's a Next Step, I link it to 
my To Do list. 

Category: Agenda-Meetings. Tags are the various meetings I attend at 
work or home.

Category: Agenda-People. Tags are the various people with whom I 
have frequent contact.

I have several custom filters and associated custom views. Some of 
the more important are Daily Review and Weekly Review. 

The Weekly Review filter is set up as follows:
-Checked is False
A-Target Date Present is False
A-Target Date less/equal to Next 7 Days 
B-Start Date Present is false 
B-Start Date less/equal to Next 7 Days
