Android

Hi all ;-) Another little question. All features in the Palm OS
release are now in the Android release or are there some differences ?
Have a nice day.

Thierry.

Datbk6 on Android

Hi everybody. I've seen that it's possible now to use Datebk6 on
Android phones :-) The new year is marvellous :-)
I just want to know if there is a way to jump from a Palm to an Android,
and to directly install on the Android phone all datas and all
preferences which are on the Palm device.
Thanks in advance.

Question re: Moving from Datebk to iOS - Week Calendar

How far back in time can Week Calendar go? Can I sync, and search, a decade's worth of past calendar data to it?

Considering moving to Android - Pimlical/A using Outlook

I use Outlook for all m calendar, contacts and tasks. When I had using Windows XP I synced to Datebk6 on my Palm
Centro. Since moving to Windows 7 I have functioned by duplicating entries which is not a permanent solution.

Android seems like the only practical choice to replace the Centro. What has been your experience moving
from a Palm device to Android? What should I be aware of? I'd prefer not to sync with Google calendar, but may
have to. Have you found Pimlical/A to provide functionality equivalent to Datebk6? Can you use Outlook
and Pimlical/A without Pimlical?

What has worked well or not on the transition?

lost a record during sync, how to determine who did it ?

I have DateBk and P/D

I enter all stuff on Palm, and, sync occasionally (either twice a day, or
twice a month, or less or more frequently)

this morning, after a sync, an appointment got removed/deleted from Palm,
it doesn't exist anymore in P/D

how do I determine what removed/deleted a valid appointment from the Palm ?

how to prevent this happening again ?

I have two categories set for 'sync' with Google

P/D 1.3.28
DateBk 6.1b s2

java version "1.6.0_29"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_29-b11)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.4-b02, mixed mode, sharing)

Re: How I moved from DateBk to iOS

Not a one. I decided to start fresh on my iPad. I just manually
transferred the important stuff and spent about two months with
the iPad and Centro both handy and comparing them day-to-day to
see if I missed anything.

I figured iCal wouldn't play nice and transfer everything I
wanted (and more likely to do weird things...iCal has to be the
worst calendar app on any platform...), so didn't want to use
iCal as my conduit (Palm-to-iCal-to-iPad).

Sorry...

Yes, it can. And datebk6 can read a different calendar file, just not
the one that synced to the Mac.

Did it.

Happened automatically from the Memo entry

I'll try that next.

Well, I can't get to my registration code because I can't launch datebk6 ;)

The Palm crashes while datebk6 is Scanning. If it doesn't have to scan
it launches and displays the calendar correctly. I have reinstalled
datebk6, and I've restored a backup of a calendar DB that was not
updated by Missing Sync, and that worked. Mark/Space is not helpful,
because it is a discontinued product (although they still sell
it/charge for it).

Thanks,
Larry

datebk6 and Mac

I've got a really strange problem. I have started syncing my Palm with
Mac Snow Leopard using Missing Sync from MarkSpace. It syncs without
error, and I can view the calendar on both the Mac and the Palm using
the built in calendar app. dbfixit2 shows no errors. But datebk6
crashes every time trying to open the calendar. As I can't launch
datebk6 to see the version I can't say what it is, but it IS the
latest.

best,
Larry
