MeeGo mailing list shutdown

Dear participants

As part of the MeeGo infrastructure ramp down, we will begin to shut down most 
mailing lists. In the coming days, all mailing lists at lists.meego.com will 
be shut down, except for the following:

	Name			Reason
	meego-dev		general discussions
	meego-commits	automated emails from builds still being sent there
	meego-security	security concerns

The mailing list archives will be frozen too, but not deleted until the main 
infrastructure shuts down completely. Some mailing lists have been archived 
publicly by other services, such as:

	http://gmane.org/find.php?list=meego
	http://www.mail-archive.com/find.php?q=meego

In addition, we'd like to ask everyone still using MeeGo services, like OBS, 
to begin finding other solutions. We will shut down all but essential services 
in May 2013.

OBS Light releases a solution to build locally your Tizen IVI image

Hello,

The OBS Light team http://wiki.meego.com/OBS_Light has just released the
Beta version off the OBSLight-fakeobs addon.
FakeOBS has been originally created by the MER project and we have
modified it for our needs. Our goal is to ease the import of a pre-boot
strapped full distribution such as MeeGo TV or Tizen IVI in a private
OBS instance.

It could be used for any OBS hosted project.

What has been released
=======================
OBSLight-fakeobs enables to deliver pre-boot strapped complete OBS
project(s) as a simple tar file (might be big!) which can be added to an
OBSLight-server by a simple command.
The added new project(s) is accessible through obslight server via the
fakeobs project link.
Branching off any packages from the fake OBS in your local OBS is
possible and building against the added project is availble by a simple
click on an icon.

Note: As the tools to create the tar file are not yet well documented,
we have created a set of three projects tar file for easy import as a
demo. We have used the recently published Tizen IVI.
  Tizen_1.0_Base-1.0.tar.gz,  Tizen_1.0_IVI-1.0.tar.gz,
Tizen_1.0_Main-1.0.tar.gz

They can be found on test hosting http://tizen.fridu.net/ .That link
will likely be removed in few weeks.

Meego Respawing issue

Hi,

I am building MEEGO 1.2 UX, I am receiving following error due to which i am unable to enter in UX gui:

init: id "x" respawing too fst: disabled for 5 minutes

Can any one please tell me what is causing this and how to resolve this?

MeeGo UX IVI Desktop

Hi,

I am trying to build image of meego-ux-ivi and the layout that i want to achieve is https://meego.com/devices/in-vehicle/ivi-screenshots. This is actually the qml based application. I have achieved it but the problem is when i click on any of the app, it does not show that app. For example, if i run on Navigation, it start processing but navigation application is not being opened. Can any one please tell what is the part that i am missing????? I am using desktop --autologinuser=meego --defaultdesktop=X-MEEGO-IVI --session="/usr/bin/meego-qml-launcher --fullscreen --app meego-ux-ivi" in KickStart file.

I have navit application installed. The corresponding navit.desktop also exists in /usr/share/applications. I have nothing in /usr/share/xsessions.

Can you please tell me more what can be the issue??

I am running meego-ux-ivi as

/usr/bin/meego-qml-launcher --fullscreen --ap meego-ux-ivi

This opens up MeeGo UX IVI layout as shown in https://meego.com/devices/in-vehicle/ivi-screenshots link.

Is this method is correct to bring meego ux ivi desktop. If not then what can be the method?

Moreover, i have found in this https://meego.com/devices/in-vehicle/in-vehicle-faq link that QML files are managed by meego-ux-daemon. What do you think, do i need to run that or meego-qml-launcher is enough to use meego ux ivi desktop?

or whatever.   A limited number of complimentary registrations are

from last Friday 12/16 but
I can't figure out what repo the updates should come from.

The XFCE desktop

doesn't appear to include any IVI-specific components whatever.
meego-v1.2.0.5-ivi-update says, "This update includes several fixes to
improve the stability of the new 1.2.0 IVI sample/demo UX".    What is
this sample/demo UX called and how do I install it?

recommended development platforms for Tunnel Creek or other E6xx variants?

This sustaining update of MeeGo IVI 1.2.0 includes:

A patch to the installer-shell to fix the boot failure bug after installation
A patch to the installer to fix the install crashed issue
Patches to the kernel-adaptation-intel-automotive package
Backport 'mac_addr_str' parameter support and enable ATH9K_HTC driver for ASD customer in kernel-adaptation-connext
New addition of kernel-adaptation-connext2, with support for the STA2x11 IOH "Cut2" version
XFCE to replace meego-ux-* components
Update image-configuration package
