[Meego-distribution-tools] MeeGo mailing list shutdown

Dear participants

As part of the MeeGo infrastructure ramp down, we will begin to shut down most
mailing lists. In the coming days, all mailing lists at lists.meego.com will
be shut down, except for the following:

	Name Reason
	meego-dev general discussions
meego-commits	automated emails from builds still being sent there
	meego-security	security concerns

The mailing list archives will be frozen too, but not deleted until the main
infrastructure shuts down completely. Some mailing lists have been archived
publicly by other services, such as:

	http://gmane.org/find.php?list=meego
	http://www.mail-archive.com/find.php?q=meego

In addition, we'd like to ask everyone still using MeeGo services, like OBS,
to begin finding other solutions. We will shut down all but essential services
in May 2013.

If you have questions about this, please contact me or
adam.r.gretzinger@...

Re: [Meego-distribution-tools] FW: Tizen 2.0 Build using OBSLight Gui for armv7l

Hi Ronan,

how to resolve the below error while creating buildroot.

I ran the qemu-binfmt-conf.sh script as root in the host machine, but no success.

Please give me your suggestions to resolve this.

Thanks & Regards,

Gopal krishna Reddy

[Meego-distribution-tools] Can't Create Project File System

Hey,

So I started playing around with obslight on a Ubuntu 12.04 system.  It's been a bit of a struggle for me to get to this point, but now I'm a bit stumped.

I have setup a project and imported the initial package I want to modify.  I'm now trying to create the file system for the project and have hit an issue where chroot fails to run the command 'rpm' stating that there is no such file or directory.  rpm and rpmbuild are installed on this system and accessible from the normal command line.

What I want to know is if there was a step I may have missed when getting to this point.  I've been following the command line instructions from http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:OBS_Light_Manual#Example:_patching_MeeGo_1.2_kernel_package, using a different package.  My obslight version is 1.0.0-1.  It also might be related to how I have this setup.  The OBSLight directory is actually a simlink to another part of the system since my home folder is an NFS share (and I can't make a directory owned by root on the share).  It therefore points to a folder on my local disk.

Any help or insight would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

[Meego-distribution-tools] OBSLight 1.0 and FakeOBS 1.0.1 with support for mic and gbs on OpenSUSE, Fedora and Unbuntu

Hello,

we are pleased to announce the new releases of OBSLight (1.0.0) and
FakeOBS (1.0.1). This new version allows to create local project and is
supported by the latest OpenSUSE, Fedora and Unbuntu.

You can now create a project with OBSlight from an OBS server, a gsb
manifest or from a local Template.
From an OBS project, you can as previously locally build OBS packages,
but you can now also import packages from a git repos (Tizen format) or
local files.

OBSLight provides all the required tools for all the supported distros.
this includes mic and gbs depanneur.

OBSLight and FakeOBS have now moved to OpenSUSE OBS and are published at
https://build.opensuse.org:
    - standard users will use the project stable (devel:OBS:Light:Stable):

https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=devel%3AOBS%3ALight%3AStable

   - Beta testers can access to the project head ()
(devel:OBS:Light:Head)(devel version ):

https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=devel%3AOBS%3ALight%3AHead

Use of the stable.version should be preferred by most of you. Never use
the both in the same time.
The head version is linked to our git branch head, the stable version
is linked to our git branch master.
https://meego.gitorious.org/meego-developer-tools/obs-light

We support OBSLight and FakeOBS for:

  -Fedora 16
  -Fedora 17
  -OpenSUSE 12.1
  -OpenSUSE 12.2
  -Ubuntu 11.10
  -Ubuntu 12.04

As OBSLight required mic, gbs and depanneur, we also distribute Mic for:
  -Fedora 16
  -Fedora 17
  -OpenSUSE 12.2
and gbs, depanneur,... for:
  -Fedora 16
  -OpenSUSE 12.2

These complementary packages are added automatically when required from
OBSLight repo.

OBS Light client now also creates repositories where your locally built
packages are published. These local repo can be used to create image

packages direclty on your target with zypper.

You will find more information about OBS Light at:

[Meego-distribution-tools] OBS light : packages

Hi,

It seems that we can't create a package from scratch with the Web UI or OBS Light. You can only create a package using an existing package of a project. I wonder what is the entry point of this system ? How to create a package from scratch and put it in your OBS ?

[Meego-distribution-tools] OBS Lightv : flush OBS Light server appliance

Hi,

I would like to know if there's a command line that can allow you to restore your OBS Light server ? I removed all the projects that I installed, but I can still see them when I execute obslight-fakeobs list. They are also available in the list of the repositories on the Web UI.

[Meego-distribution-tools] OBS Light and Fake OBS

Hi,

I use an appliance to understand how OBS Light works and how I can use it.
What I have already done is :

1 - download the appliance                            Ok
2 - install the appliance on a Server               Ok
3 - install OBS Light on my client computer    Ok
4 - create an account with all rights                Ok
5 - import Fake OBS images from an archive  OK (I imported Tizen Base, Tizen Main and Tizen IVI)
6 - configure the repository from the Web UI   Ok  (I added Tizen Base (i586), Tizen Main i586, Tizen IVI i586)
7 - import a project with OBS Light                 Ok (I imported Tizen IVI)
8 - generate the chroot with OBS Light           Ok

I would like to know how to add a package which come from my Fake OBS Tizen IVI ? I can't see anything in the list when I try to import a package of my Tizen IVI fake OBS when I click on the import button (central box of OBS Light). My goal is to access the source code and the packages of my Fake OBS.

An other question is how to integrate a package that you created (with the Web UI) in your Fake OBS ? Unfortunately, when you create a package with the Web UI, it creates an empty directory which seems to be completely disconnected from the Fake OBS in which you want to integrate your package. Sure, you can import this package with OBS Light, but I would like to know, what you have to do to configure your package to enable the build process ? (For example I want to build and integrate a simple hello world program for my Fake OBS)

My last question is how to build your Fake OBS using OBS Light ?

To be clear, very clear, a Fake OBS is for me a project which is located on your own OBS server. It doesn't refer to a remote OBS server.

I will be very happy if someone could answer exactly my questions.

Thanks.

[Meego-distribution-tools] OBS with osc versus OBS Light

Hi,

I wonder what is the difference between using OBS with the OpenSuse command line (OSC) and OBS Light ? Is OBS Light just a UI which only use osc and nothing more ? Can you give me the additional stuff provided by OBS Light ?

Thanks
