Re: N900, problem with headset and headphones, tv out

Hi Rick,

I pushed the plug as far as it can go, and still is without recognized. :(

The Healtcheck app shows that the headphone is always disconnected, what can I do?

Thanks,

Hector

This may be a long shot but are you sure you have pushed the plug in as
far as it can go? When I first got my N900 I thought the earphones
weren't working. But I didn't have the plug in all the way. Good luck.

Re: N900, problem with headset and headphones, tv out

Hi!

I've had the same problem with one pair of headphones (though not the ones supplied with the N900). I found some notices on the web about this being an issue with the latest version of Maemo (PR 1.3), however, I'm not sure about the status of it. I am still trying to figure it out, just as you. I'll post whatever I find about it, when I have time to continue looking.

Best,

Magnus

Hi to all!

I talk with a guy that has a N900 too and he doesn't have these problems, and his maemo version is the same as mine. So, could be any solution to my problem?

thanks,

My bet is that this is a hardware problem. They aren't common with the
N900, but the audio/tv port is a mechanical part after all, and as
such there is a small chance that it is faulty. And your case, it
never worked, neither with (any) headphone, nor with the TV cable.
I would try to get a replacement unit.

Sorry -- this is probably not what you wanted to hear.

Re: N900, problem with headset and headphones, tv out

I would actually try taking it to a service center. The jack in question actually "sits" on pads on the board.
It could be there's something on the pads, or that the jack is faulty. Either way, this particular part is
easily repairable in most shops, not requiring a replacement.

Trying (again) to set up SyncEvolution with GooSync

Hi all,

I've been relying on NuevaSync for syncing my N900 with my Google
contacts and calendar which has been working fine. Now, Nueva has
decided to discontinue its free service and since I already have a
GooSync account I figured I'll try to get that to work. But, as
happened last time I tested this earlier this year, synchronization
fails. When I try to sync both calendar and contacts (as well as tasks
and notes) it throws an error 10500 and if I try to only sync calendar
or contacts it throws an error 22000. I've tried to open the logs but
SyncEvolution can't fins them (it says...).

Any suggestions?

best,

/Henrik

I tried to sync using the CLI for syncevolution an I managed to sync
my calendar after first overwriting the local calendar with the online
one. Trying the same with the addressbook unfortunately only resultet
in my local contacts got deleted. Doing

$ syncevolution --status <profile> addressbook

exits with the message "Comparison was not possible."

Anyone?

How to avoid automatic updates check?

Hi,

I've noticed, using "DataPlanMonitor", that every day I use my mobile internet connection I waste about
16Mb with the first connection of the day. each time I connect, the following services are in use: Skype,
Gtalk and VOIP. If I do a second connection later only 1-2 Mb are wasted, so I must assume that some other
services waste about 15Mb and I think that is the service that checks if there are updates available. I'd
like to disable this because I want to manually check if there are updates. How can I do this?

Thanks for your help.
