how do I find out the IP address assigned?

I noticed that ifconfig is not installed on OS2008. How do I find out the IP
address assigned by DHCP?

Also, will anything break in the standard software if I change the hostname
and/or domain?

Open connection manager - menu - internet connection - ip address

Elektex bluetooth SPP keyboard

I'm trying to use an Elektex bluetooth SPP keyboard (aka RoKy2) with the N810.

   http://www.elektex.com

(click on Mobile Computing then either Just Mobile or G-Tech)

I've obtained the driver from

   http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/#kbdd

I've been able to pair the device and have tried several (but not all) of the
keyboard type settings and none of them seem to work with the Elektex.

Has anybody modified this driver to work with the Elektek keyboard? Can
someone tell me how to contact the author (Frantisek Dufka)?

Re: how do I find out the IP address assigned?

From the shell

/sbin/ifconfig -a

/sbin isn't in the users' path.

Never heard of anyone with this keyboard. At least freedom, smartbt or
btfoldable types are worth of trying. What does 'it does not work' mean?
Swapped keys? Random key press or release events? Nothing at all?

Check the README :-)

Also with any of those types (btfoldable at least) try to enable debug
output in btkbd.conf and watch /tmp/kbdd.log when you press and release
keys (tail -f over ssh or in another xterm window). You should see raw
scan codes for each key press or release. Then you can examine source
for same keyboard type or add your own. If you make table for
keyboards.h similar to one at the end of this
http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/btfoldable.diff I will add it to my build of
kbdd.

Re: how do I find out the IP address assigned?

I suggest IpHome, this is my home/desktop plugin that shows the current IP
address of your network
devices. Notifies you of any new interfaces or any changes of IP addresses.

IpHome for N8x0:

It's in the extras-devel repository, add to the application catalogue:
Address: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel
Distribution: chinook
Components: free non-free

My recommendation is when you install it, you disable that repository,
because it has 'unstable' applications.
Please, if you find some problem with maemo-wordpy, report it, thanks.

Regards.
