bug 3503

I don’t know if you hava a see at maemo bug 3503.

This is the link https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3503

This bug was introduced in diablo (hildon-application-manager version

1:2.1.16); previously, in chinook (with version 1:2.0.2), the theme's

DefaultTextColor and DefaultBackgrdColor were both correctly applied.

Why the hildon application manager of Diablo use cairo rendertext?

When it use cairo.the application hava bug 3503

So I see the source code of hildon application manager .in the folder include package-info-cell-renderer.c which be used in util.cc

But in the util.cc hava the define & ifndef the header file.

I want to know that what the difference between version 2.0.2 and version 2.1.16. and what ‘s the function of package-info-cell-renderer.c

I am going to see the API of gtkcellrenderer gtkcellrenderertext.

Thanks!

RE: USB Networking doesn't work on my N810 (diablo) and Ubuntu Linux 8.04

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem, with Ubuntu 8.04 on IBM T61p,... able to access N810 memory card from the host, but not able to ping it...

FATAL: Error inserting g_ether (/lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/kernel/drivers/usb/gadget/g_ether.ko): No such device

Wonder which linux distribution to use to be able to connect to maemo device via sbrsh or ssh? Have You heard some success story, maybe debian?
Best Regards,
Aleksandar

Re: USB Networking doesn't work on my N810 (diablo) and Ubuntu Linux 8.04

Maybe an Ubuntu bug? What version of Debian/Ubuntu are using "Maemo PC
Connectivity" developers?

We are not providing it at the moment for legal / Licensing reasons.
The current closed source driver for Omap 2420 is not GPL compliant
and Nokia can't deliver such a driver.

We are working to get some version of driver available to developpers but
it won't be any Nokia supported version. The plan is least tell in
Maemo Summit
could we resolve existing problem and make driver some way available.

RE: Chmod Issue on 810

Sorry, Nick, no. I have sqlite (including the sqlite shell), but not sqlite3.

From my experience building sqlite, I would guess that re-building the debian
sqlite3 should be reasonably straightforward once the tcl stuff is removed
(do ruby, etc also build from this source? if so, they will need to be
removed as well).

But, on the other hand, as Nokia has obviously already done that in order to
create libsqlite3* why didn't they also put sqlite3 in the SDK?

I can't remember why you wanted this but I believe the on-disk format is the
same as for Debian I386 -- you can copy a database to a Debian system and use
sqlite3 there.

need help uploading to Extras

I have some packages that I'd like to add to the extras repository, but
I'm a total newb when it comes to packaging so I need help. I've read
the docs, but they usually assume I am familiar with debian packaging,
and that my program is written in C. In my case, I am able to create a
package that installs on the device just fine, but I've never interacted
with a repository as a developer. Also, my apps are written in Python,
so none of the docs work for me.

I have two apps I'd like to add, one of which is a little more complex
than the other.

The first is a hildonized version of the Sonata MPD client
(http://sonata.berlios.de/). I've uploaded my patched tarball and built
deb here: http://ywwg.com/maemo/ Version 1.5.2 is the latest version.

The second program is my PenguinTV RSS reader, which requires two
packages (these files are also at http://ywwg.com/maemo/). One is what
I've called "python2.5-gnome-extras," which is indeed built from the
gnome-python-extras sources, but which only provides support for
gtkmozembed. Everything else in that package is disabled in configure.
I hacked up this package manually since I don't know how to set up C
packages to build themselves.

Along with that package, I need to submit the main PenguinTV-3.65
package.

I'm confident of the basics -- that the packges don't brick machines,
that they correctly create menu items and, you know, run -- I just need
help with this last step.

thanks so much!
Owen Williams

ps,
and if anyone knows why my icons always come out so small in the
application menus, please let me know.

As this is the second email we've gotten from him on this, perhaps he is
requesting (in an oblique way) to be removed from the list? The list
would then be compliant with his desire.
