gpe and gnopernicus

well dunno who is going to read this (posted to the old list as I lost
detials for the new one otherwise I would've corssposted)

does anyone on here know if:
- gnopernicus compiles on ARM (openzaurus or the new Angstrom distro)
- gpe is fully gtk+ (gkt2.0) accessibility framework compatible?

This would, if so, create an enviroment in which any user can plug their
favourite speech synthstuff, braille display drivers or other onscreen
magnifyers/keybaords and such.

It would also create a big alternative as supposed to WinCE and
accessibility (which isn't that great btw)

Two separate GPE projects?

I'm terribly confused. There's a large, impressive-looking site at
http://gpe.handhelds.org/, which lists a mailing list and all manner of
other things. But the CVS repository says it's unused and tells me to go to
http://gpe.linuxtogo.org/, which has a whole separate mailing list and such.

Is http://gpe.handhelds.org/ still used for anything? Should I just ignore
that site entirely, and rely on the linuxtogo site instead? Any particular
reason the handhelds.org site hasn't been shutdown and/or redirected to the
linuxtogo site?

You must be kidding upon all subscribers of the list by asking such
flamy questions, because if you really care to get an answer, you
would do what every novice does when starting at some new project -
read mailing list archives. In this case, of both lists, and
apparently, it wouldn't take you reading to the start of of times to
get an idea.

Flamy questions? Dude, get some perspective.

The November 2006 archives (the first month's worth) of archives for
gpe-list <at> linuxtogo.org don't give any indication. I see from the old list
archives that the move happened because of some sort of pissing match
amongst admins and devs.

It mostly depends on point of view. From your, there was no intention
of starting flame I guess. The all the things happened not so long ago
(few months) and there were flames connected to every question
associated to it. Simply, some people wanted the move, others did not
want. So every question concerning this can possibly start again flames
which (as many people on both sides hope) already finished. As far as I
understand, general intention is to wait until the things will settle
down.

The questions you asked at the end of the paragraph could easily start
flame if someone tried to answer them, because one or the other side
could get it wrong. Paul said it maybe too directly, but he's still
right.

Archives of gpe <at> handhelds.org should give you more information about
why asking such questions might not be good idea:).
