I apologize for the late response. The last 3 weeks have been very hard on me.
Shilpa, thanks for your input. It seems that the role system stands out as the top most priority for us.
Alan,
Is there something I can do to help you complete the role system? IMHO our approach should be to eliminate the dependency ASAP, so that we can work in parallel on our respective layers/components.

What is left on the directory layer is the role system (Permissions). After that's done, everything else should fall into place. This is what I was working, but never got to finish it. I had somewhat of a design for it. The way it works is a bit complex, so it might take me some time to finish. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to finish it though.
