Can AAL work under Windows?

Hi,

I’ve downloaded the toolbox of AAL Libarary. It seems that the toolbox can only run under Unix. Does it
work under Windows?

thanks!

Re: Can AAL work under Windows?

Yes it should work under anything that has matlab installed (being nothing
more than a collection of matlab m-files)

Check the AAL website though there was something you have to do with the
atlas file after installation, if I rememeber correctly

FIR timecourse of parametric regressor

Hi,

Is there a way to easily extract the FIR timecourse of a parametric regressor?
Our parametric regressors are modulations with RT. It is thus not possible to
split them into different event types. We tried using the "FIR event time
courses" but it seems that marsbar does not consider a parametric modulation as
an event type...

Thanks,

Jerome

percetn signal change and contrast value

Hi, Marsbar users,

After I extracted percent signal change and contrast values for each condition in my 2*2 study, I run ANOVA to both measures. However, the two measures gave different results: percent signal change showed a significant effect of one condition, whereas contrast values did not show any significant results. Can anyone tell me the reasonn for this cosistency and which measure should I use for further analysis? Thanks!

ROI % signal change

I am using spm5 and would like to calculate % signal change for a block
design. While MARSBAR calculates the % signal change, the description
in the tutorial, "There are many assumptions for this analysis; please
treat it like you would treat your children: with a combination of
great care and weary
scepticism." is fitting. I am skeptical. Is FIR more commonly used to
calculate % signal change? If list members would be willing to share
information on programs they have found useful in calculating %signal
change I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
Jeanne

a question on the direction of the ROI

Hi,

I’d like to extract fMRI time course in occipital cortex by Marsbar-AAL ROI library after I
co-registered subject’s anatomical image to an MNI template named T1.mnc in SPM. And then, in order to
verify the ROI such as the left inferior occipital cortex, I exported it as a binary image, but I found that
the direction of the ROI is adverse, that is it was on the right occipital cortex!

So, my question is--
Why the direction of ROI is adverse?

By the way, I exported one of the ROIs in marsbar-AAL ROI library, MNI_Occipital_Inf_L_roi.mat, on the
co-registered anatomical image, I found it’s just in the left occipital.

Thanks!

Jie

I'm not sure. Is the ROI on the correct side when you view it on the
template in marsbar? If so, then the data will be extracted
correctly. Issues with L-R are quite complicated, because of the
orientation fields in image, and the different ways images are
displayed in different programs...

Best,

Matthew
