Re: analyzing unnormalized data

Hi,

Sorry to be slow to reply.

> We are trying to extract timecourses from unnormallized functional data using anatomical ROIs. We have
been using the marsbar batch script, and this crashes marsbar and matlab completely. We've been trying to
debug and have noted that the crash occurs during the "getdata" script. (although we're not sure that this
is the cause of the problem)

Oh dear - that sounds very strange. Marsbar has no compiled code, so
I think the crash must be somewhere in the SPM routines. Have you
tried recompiling these? What platform are you working on?

Re: hrf derivative timecourse

Hi,

Sorry to be slow (again)

Er - no - I don't think there's code in marsbar to do that - marsbar
combines the temporal derivative with the hrf to estimate the shape.
The timecourses for the derivative will of course just look like the
derivative scaled by a scalefactor which is different for each ROI -
and in any case, don't tell you directly about the whole response
shape - is that really what you want?

Best,

Matthew

SPM 5 problem?

I am using the MarsBar tool I installed for SPM5. When using the MarsBar get
window to find an SPM.mat file created using SPM5 when trying to specify the
design, the SPM.mat file that physically exists does not appear to the MarsBar
get window. If I use MarsBar running in SPM2, the SPM.mat (created in SPM5)
appears. How do I fix this problem?

error combining anatomical ROIs

Hi,

I am quite new to marsbar... unfortunately i have been unable to find the answers to my current quandry in teh archives.

I am trying to combine a pair of the marsbar AAL ROIs (specifically the fusiform and lingual gyri). I want to use it to compare these structures bilaterally. I also want to write the combination to an image such that I could use it for  analysis via small volume corrections within the ROI.

Unfortunately, when I try to combine them I get...

Warning: No volume resulted for ROI
> In marsbar at 616
  In marsbar at 1800
  In marsbar at 485
  In spm at 1276

I have, however, been able to take a self generated functional ROI and combined it with a box ROI.

Any suggestions?

Regards,

R.
