	Hello,

in fact there is a SANE_DLL_V_MINOR. It is enough for my needs.

Fujitsu fi-5120c: replaced by fi-6130?

I noticed today that the Fujitsu fi-5120c was no longer listed at our
preferred online retailer. A new model fi-6130 was available with slightly
better specifications and a correspondingly higher price.

Is the Fujitsu fi-6130 a direct replacement for the fi-5120c?

Can anyone verify that the fi-6130 carries the same high level of sane
fujitsu-backend compatibility as the fi-5120c?

Thanks,
Jeff

have one on my desk. very nice piece of gear, very fast, reversing
roller system makes it almost impossible to jam.

works perfectly with sane cvs, poorly with 1.0.19. debian's latest
1.0.19 deb has a patch that gives basic support.

sane cvs also enables every esoteric option i could find, including
the endorser (if you get one).

Is there a source for sane-cvs debs suitable for Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy?

I'd like to use our fi-60f (double-free error, ubuntu memory
'protection'), and if we are fortunate enough get one of these fi-6130,
neither Hardy or Intrepid sane packages are recent enough for full support.

saned, Network Scanner, Automatic Document Feeder

I have configured a Canon PIXMA MX 310 (Printer/Scanner/FAX) on a Debian
Etch server. SANE version is 1.1.0-cvs from 2008-09-30.

When I try to scan multiple pages using the Automatic Document Feeder
the jobs fails after the first page with the following error:

scanimage: sane_start: Invalid argument

Scanning single pages works with ADF as well as Flatbed and multiple
pages works with Flatbed. scanimage on the server itself works when
scanning from the local scanner, when trying to scan from net even on
the server itself, the same error occurs.

This is the output from debug whe scanning over the network:

....
....
....
scanimage: min/max graylevel value = 36/255
scanimage: read 26267904 bytes in total
Scanned page 1. (scanner status = 5)
Scanning page 2
[dll] sane_start(handle=0x8090248)
scanimage: sane_start: Invalid argument
[dll] sane_cancel(handle=0x8090248)
[dll] sane_close(handle=0x8090248)
[dll] sane_exit: exiting

multifuncional HP Deskjet F2180

Hi!

I succesfuly compiled and installed Sane backends on nice small Linux
machine Bubba. That is personal mini server without any connectors for
monitor, keyboard and mouse. The only access is trought SSH or web
interfaces. Contains some good sevices like media server, ftp, print server,
samba etc.
I have managed to work on them my HP Deskjet F2180 multifuncional printer.
But of course I would like to use his scanning abilities too - i.e. use it
like network scanner.

So where I am now:

scanimage -L
gives me "No scanners were identified..."

while
sane-find-scanner
gives:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [HP], product=0x7d04 [Deskjet F2100
series]) at libusb:001:010

cat /proc/bus/usb/devices

[Patch] support a fixed port-range for saned

Hi,

I've written a small patch for adding support for specifying a range (by
defining the constants(*) MINPORT_DATA and MAXPORT_DATA).

* This is the first step. Second step would be adding a real configuration
option for net.conf.
** When set to zero, the old behaviour is used (pick a random port for data).

A strict firewall is common nowadays, even inside a LAN. I believe this
feature is needed by many people. Please send feedback if something is wrong.

Attached.

Thanks,

 - Oren

Re: saned, Network Scanner, Automatic Document Feeder

Nicolas

First of all, thanks for your quick answer. Unfortunately
SANE_DEBUG_PIXMA gave absolutely no about at all. I then started scaned
from the console with option -d128.

This is the output I got:

kangaroo:~# saned -d128

Make that two options in saned.conf and it'll have a chance.

	Hello,

I can reproduce the bug in version starting at 1.0.17. Since it is working
with xsane/xscanimage, but not using scanimage I'll try to compre the
execution path to understand what could be happening.

Regards,
	Stef
