MSYS Patches

[FAO Cesar Strauss]

Cesar,

Do you monitor the MinGW-notify list, or otherwise keep an eye on the
various project trackers? Recently, there have been two similar
postings which I would appreciate if you could review, bug #1674783 and
patch #1729798. Both are derived from information originally posted to
the mailing list by Oscar Bonilla, who has recently joined the project.

Perhaps you could discuss these with Oscar, with a view to incorporating
this Vista related update in time for MSYS-1.0.11?

Regards,
Keith.

I recently obtained a machine with Vista Home Basic if you need some
testing in that direction.

MinGW Theme

Jason, et al,

I would like for the MinGW theme to be placed in CVS so we can have
control of revisions. Also, the LOGO is a bit too much. Drupal has
the means to place the site name and slogan from the DB. This can help
us reduce the size of the logo and move the text around in the header.
I would like for the changes to the theme to be reviewed on site at
mingw.org/cms/ so that we can comment on the changes. If we place the
change in CVS we can update the changes at least daily but we can shoot
for once every two hours if we think that is better.

I do monitor the MinGW-notify list.

Sure, I will review these tracker items. I will take a look at how
this problem was solved in Cygwin.

Sure.

Cesar

PS: This comment, in Cygwin sigproc.cc seems relevant:

/* It appears that when running under WOW64 on Vista 64, the first DWORD
value in the datastructure lpReserved2 is pointing to (msv_count in

Hi, Dave

Sure, all help is appreciated. Could you tell me:

1) Is your Vista 32 or 64 bits?
2) Does MSYS install cleanly? Does it run?
3) Do commands like "install" and "patch" work?

Regards,
Cesar

w64 crt and def files

Hello,

I made an upload to mingw for a mostly working crt for x86_64 mingw
(mingw-w64-crt-20070629.tar.bz2). Also I recognized, that the def file
upload - I sent some time ago - isn't available ?! Therefore I added the
def files to the crt, too.
There is a makefile, but don't use it for installing. Please copy the
object files and libraries manual.
May somebody is interested in this crt and I'm curious to get comments
about it.

Cheers,
 i.A. Kai Tietz
