EO Translation

Hello!

I just completed an Esperanto translation from the CVS .pot file. I don't
really know the procedure for this since I usually use Launchpad, but I
imagine I just send you the .po file here? Let me know if you need anything
else.

Thanks for the great program!

[Fwd: Bug#472080: gnubiff: imap error]

[re-sent inline since attachment was not accepted by mailing list]

Hi,

I'm forwarding a bugfix patch from a Debian user. Should we just apply it?

bye,
  Roland

Bug#472080: gnubiff: imap error

Package: gnubiff
Version: 2.2.3-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

If there are some new messages in an IMAPS mailbox and a single last
new message after some messages which are not new, gnubiff reports
an error while fetching new messages from such a mailbox.

This is because of badly formed list of new messages to be fetched,
where the uid of the single last new message is missing. Then the
equality check on the number of new messages and messages fetched fails.

New Dutch PO file for 'gnubiff' (version 2.2.7)

Hello, gentle maintainer.

This is a message from the Translation Project robot.

A revised PO file for textual domain 'gnubiff' has been submitted
by the Dutch team of translators. The file is available at:

    http://translationproject.org/latest/gnubiff/nl.po

(We can arrange things so that in the future such files are automatically
e-mailed to you when they arrive. Ask at the address below if you want this.)

All other PO files for your package are available in:

    http://translationproject.org/latest/gnubiff/

Please consider including all of these in your next release, whether
official or a pretest.

Whenever you have a new distribution with a new version number ready,
containing a newer POT file, please send the URL of that distribution
tarball to the address below. The tarball may be just a pretest or a
snapshot, it does not even have to compile. It is just used by the
translators when they need some extra translation context.

License regarding OpenSSL

Hi,

at Debian, I became aware of the fact that we have a licensing problem
regarding GPL and OpenSSL. Those are incompatible. If we want to
distribute gnubiff under the GPL (no matter if v3 or not) and want to
enable OpenSSL linkage, we need to add sth. like the follwing to the
respective files:

 * In addition, as a special exception, the copyright holders give
 * permission to link the code of portions of this program with the
 * OpenSSL library under certain conditions as described in each
 * individual source file, and distribute linked combinations
 * including the two.
 * You must obey the GNU General Public License in all respects
 * for all of the code used other than OpenSSL. If you modify
 * file(s) with this exception, you may extend this exception to your
 * version of the file(s), but you are not obligated to do so. If you
 * do not wish to do so, delete this exception statement from your
 * version. If you delete this exception statement from all source
 * files in the program, then also delete it here.

See also: http://www.gnome.org/~markmc/openssl-and-the-gpl.html

Thanks,

Roland

Patch to add IMAP4 TLSv1 (STARTTLS) support

Please see below my patch to add STARTTLS support to gnubiff.

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1856310&group_id=94176&atid=606981

It only supports STARTTLS IMAP4 connections. It does not yet support
specifying a custom certificate, POP3 TLS, or TLSv1-only servers, but I
think should satisfy most users. I would appreciate any comments, and
hope to see it integrated in some form in the next version of gnubiff.

Cheers,
Ryan

Re: May I translate the Gnubiff into Chinese?

Hi,

thanks for your interest in improving gnubiff.

The correct ISO639 code for Chinese is "zh_CN" (simpified Chinese) or "zh_TW" (traditional Chinese),
"ch" would be Chamorro which is spoken on the Northern Mariana Islands. The gnubiff site of the
translation project is now http://translationproject.org/domain/gnubiff.html where you can
download the current template gnubiff-2.2.7.pot for translating (this file should then renamed to
zh_CN.po or zh_TW.po). If you wish to join your language team you get the necassary information at the
translationproject.org-site. Otherwise jsut send the translated file to the gnubiff development
mailing list (gnubiff-devel <at> lists.sourceforge.net).
Thanks again.

CU Robert :-)

Hi,

the FSF wants us to upgrade gnubiff to GPL version 3. Are there any objections?
