Porting apps using video from windows to linux?

Hi,

I've got an app that I'm trying to port from Windows to Linux. At the
moment it's written in C# and uses winforms.

The winforms side of things works great, however I also have an
embedded wmplayer window in the windows version which doesn't move to
the linux version at all. This is the only thing about my app that
doesn't work.

Is there any way (and I don't mind recoding if I have to!) to port
this mediaplayer window across to linux so that I can embed videos as
part of my app?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Probably you need to write a component that glues with one of the
video playing engines available in Linux, like GStreamer (that has a
gst-sharp binding [managed wrapper]).

Have fun,

Unfortunately I do not think we will be able to use DataGrid as the
application is already written and deployed on Windows.

I submitted bug reports for these issues as requested by Pedro.

Thanks!

The patch looked good, so I just committed it.

Hi, Here is a patch implemeting KeyboardSpeed/KeyboardDelay properties for XplatUIWin32 class.

Also it fixes returning driver.KeyboardSpeed instead of driver.KeyboardDelay from XplatUI.KeyboardDelay property in XplatUI.cs

Package Mono and/or x11 with Program

I've got a program I have written in Mono and Winforms. I have been looking everywhere for a good way to package mono and x11 with the program, so that when a user installs the program, they automatically get mono(linux and mac) and x11 (mac) installed as well. It seems a lot to ask to have users get out their OS X cd to install x11, and download and install mono, and my program.

Is there an easy was to package them all together?

Short answer: No. You are most likely not permitted to distribute
Apple's X11, especially not the Tiger version.

For Mono and your app you might be able to write a meta installation
package that includes the existing Mono.framework package and a
package for your app in one step.

Re: Package Mono and/or x11 with Program

Hi Austin,

For Mono you can type 'man mkbundle' for more information on a way to
pack things. For X11 for Mac I don't know.
