Re: GnomePrinterSelector private?

Hello Chema,

Have you made any decisions on this issue. I have not been able to work
much on glabels for a while, so it hasn't been too much of an issue.
However, I have had people asking because their distribution either does
not include libgnomeprint[ui]-2.0 or does not install it by default. In
fact, I have received a couple of patches to use 2.2 that simply ignore
the fact that the GnomePrinterSelector is private -- which I believe is
just asking for trouble.

Why are gnome printer configuration tool and manager so slow for me?

Hi all,

I used to have Redhat 7.3 and my local HP 560C printer was
working nicely.
Recently I upgrade my system to Redhat 9.0. Somehow my printer is no longer
working.
I tried to use gnome printer configuration tool to add my printer. It seemed
configured correctly, but still can't print.
Also tried to use gnome printer manager to see the status. Both printer
configuration tool and manager worked very
slow for me. It took almost 20 minutes for one action such as starting the
tool, clicking a button like 'Edit', 'Default' , etc..

Can give my any suggestions what could be wrong? I checked the
system monitor, the tools didn't take much CPU time when waiting after
clicking a button 'Edit', 'Default'.

             My PC is Compaq Presario 5150. 350 M AMD k6-2. 256 M memory. I
know it's very old. but the printing worked before :-( ...

Thanks for any hints or suggestions.
