[Friends of GNOME] Flaws in one time payment process (with paypal ?)

Hello,

I wanted to bring attention to the foundation a flaw about the Friend
of GNOME donation process.
Last year around beggining of march I gave 100$ as a one time donation
using paypal.
Few days ago, while looking at my paypal activity I discovered 100$
was withdaw from GNOME foundation without any notice.
I found this payment happened exactly one year after another one with
the same amount, that's I linked this to my previous year FoF
donation.

So apparently there is a flaw somewhere:
- the one time payment seems to be actually an recurrent annual
payment (I don't remember being informed of that when I did my
donation last year)
- there is no notice (from GNOME and Paypal) of the upcoming withdrawal
- I can't stop the donation

There is actually another problem, which is it is not possible to edit
the properties of the donation, so the details are the same that the
previous year:
- Cannot stop the donation or change the amount of money
- same sponsored hacker
- same details for the gift (cannot change tee shit size, …)

it would be really appreciated to fix this issue, and improve the
donation process of Friend of GNOME for any future donor.

Bye

Introducing myself

Hello everybody.

My name is Juan A. Suarez, and I'm a new member of GNOME Foundation. I'm
from Spain, and I'm living in Barcelona.

I've been working with GNOME technologies since 2007, when I joined
Igalia. I was heavily involved in Maemo (main developer of MAFW,
multimedia framework used in N900), and in Meego (in several
components).

In GNOME, my main contribution is Grilo, a multimedia framework that
eases the access to multimedia sources like youtube, flickr, vimeo, and
so forth, which is used right now in Totem and MediaExplorer.

I'm grateful to have been accepted as member of the Foundation, and I'd
like to thank all those people that supported my acceptance.

Regards.

Introduction

Hi all,

My name is Olivier Sessink, and I'm a new member of the GNOME
foundation. I live in the Netherlands.

I've been working for a long time on the sidelines of the gnome project.
I've been programming gtk applications since 1996, the most well known
application is the Bluefish editor.

In my daytime I work for a large governement organisation where we
deploy a gnome based desktop. With a large implementation you sometimes
hit funny limits (who needs 2500 printers in the gnome printer dialog
?). Since few developers have the chance to test their software in such
a large implementation I try blog about such issues and notify the
developers.

regards,

	Olivier Sessink
