Andrew, can you provide us with any more information on how it went?

Large Linux Forum Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark on March 4th 2006

Hi all

Happy GNOME Year 2006

Look here GNOME friends who live in Sweden and Denmark. And a special
invitation to Christian Rose.

I need assistance to reprecent GNOME Foundation at our important yearly
event:
Linux Forum Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark on March 4th 2006.

If you live near Copenhagen I can recommend our yearly event.

This years keynote will be Allan Cox. Looking forward to meeting you
again Allan.

last year I think that we had more than 2600 participants over two days
at LinuxForum 2005. This is big for a nation with 5½ million
inhabitants.
The conference language is Danish exempt for Allan Cox who might give
his presentation in Welsh ;-)

New this year is a GNOME User Group Expo. "Brugergruppestand".

Have a look at the preliminary program

http://www.linuxforum.dk/2006/en/

Please send me a private mail to aoe(at)gnome.org if you want to come
and help me represent GNOME Foundation. You will meet everyone from the

GNOME logo issue

Hi,

I don't know if the Foundation is already aware of this, but please
check the logo of the following webpage:

http://www.randomimage.us/

I think that would be some kind of copyright infringment (IANAL).

I think this is a good case for why we should continue to keep ownership
of the Gnome foot logo.

Some of the images that turn up on this sight would give a very negative
association with Gnome.

Hi Claudio,

Thanks for the heads-up. In this instance, it is a case of trademark
infringement, not copyright infringement. I've sent them an e-mail asking them
to stop using our mark. If they refuse, we'll have to get the foundation's
lawyers to send a nastygram.

Cheers,
Dave.

FOSDEM: Call for Talks for the Gnome Dev Room

Want to have fun in Brussels?

Here is a reminder, we are still looking for people to give talks in the
gnome devroom during FOSDEM.

You are a hacker and you are going to FOSDEM ? So you surely want to
present the project you are hacking on to the world, to convince fellow
hackers that your stuff is really cool, and that they should help you.
You are not a hacker, but a translator, a bug triager, ... who is
coming? Then you sure want to give a talk about what you are doing, and
to describe how other people can help you, the more hands, the better,
right ?

So don't be shy, anyone can give a talk, it's easy, and it's a very
rewarding experience. Now, all you have to do is to send me an email,
and to tell me what you are talking about. And you have to do it
quickly, otherwise you may not be able to get a timeslot because of a
fully booked schedule.

Don't miss this opportunity of giving a talk in our devroom, but don't
forget that I must have your proposition before Sunday, January 29th.

Cheers,

Christophe

Christophe,

I made a page on the GNOME wiki about the FOSDEM devroom earlier today, but
didn't want to announce it until I'd spoken to you about it... I guess this
is as good a time as any. :-)

Lets fatten this out and get some good talks/workshops going. :-)

Thanks,

- Jeff
