board meeting quasi-minutes, May 14th and 21st, 2008

The board had meetings on the 14th and 21st to discuss a confidential
matter which the board hopes to disclose in the near future. No
minutes were taken because of the confidential nature of the meetings,
and because no final decisions (save one) were taken at either
meeting. This email is offered to the list to document that meetings
have been occurring.

GUADEC 2008 Registrations are Open

GUADEC 2008 Registrations are Open!

Please visit: https://guadec.expectnation.com/guadec08/public/register
in order to register for GUADEC 2008. 

Payments will be handled by PayPal this year as well. You can pay
directly using the guadec.org web page. 

Registration fees are same as last year[1] with minor rounding as
follows:

Student Registration €15.00 

Standard Registration €45.00 

Professional Registration €200.00 

We will have difference colored badges for different kind of
registration levels. And registration will be mandatory in order to
participate GUADEC 2008 organization events[2].

GNOME Foundation members will get benefit of 50% discount for Standard
and Professional registrations.

GNOME Foundation Annual General Meeting, etc

Greetings,

A couple quick announcements.  First:

To better manage organizational aspects of the board, the following
roles will by observed by board members:

  - Chairman: Behdad Esfahbod
  - Vice-Chairman: Lucas Rocha
  - Secretary: Luis Villa
  - Treasurer: John Palmieri

Furthermore, to comply with our bylaws, the Chairman and Vice-Chairman
of the board will also serve as President and Vice-President of GNOME
Foundation respectively.

All board members will continue to serve in their areas of expertise as
before.

Next:

The GNOME Foundation Annual General Meeting will be held during GUADEC
on July 11th at 16:30 in Istanbul, Turkey [1].  All foundation members
are invited to attend.  If there are any questions, comments, or
proposals you want to see considered before the meeting please send them
to board <at> gnome.org soon.

There is also a GNOME Foundation BoF scheduled for July 7th at 14:30.
Interested parties are welcome.
