many people within the community.

GNOME Foundation Meeting Minutes 26/04/07

Board Meeting :: 26th April 2007

Present: Anne, Behdad, Glynn, Jeff, Vincent
Regrets: Zana, Dave, Quim

 o GMAE Post-Mortem

Jeff focused his post-moretem on the negative feedback. A few people raised
some concerns about the secrecy and the apparent mystery of the GMAE
announcement. Jeff tried to comfort them by telling them that it wasn't
really secret, and that we were just keeping a secret for fun - when in
reality, many people within the community knew.

Thilo Pfennig resigned from the marketing group as a result, and Adrian
Custer gave up his GNOME membership, more likely based on his perception
of the current transparency of the GNOME Foundation, and the lack of a
   public budget.

Jeff felt that the way we approached the announcement was surprising,
though after the announcement, it wasn't a big deal for most people. Jeff
mentioned that a lot of people started to read into what announcement it
could be. Jeff feels that using gnome-private would be a bad response
and a step back in how we have handled things over the last few years.
We just need to alay people's concerns.

Behdad asked what the next steps were - board response, or let it pass.
Vincent commented that he thought people were expecting an answer on
   the whole transparency issue.

ACTION: Jeff to send a short debrief to foundation-list about the GMAE

GNOME Foundation Board Meeting Minutes :: 10th May 2007

Board Meeting :: 10th May 2007

Note: The meeting started at 19:20 UTC and ran to 20:20 UTC due to a
problem getting access to Sun's audio conferencing facility. Many thanks
to Quim Gil for organising a conf call at the last minute on Nokia's
conference call facility.

Present: Quim, Anne, Dave (acting secretary), Behdad, Vincent, Rosanna,
         Jeff (:35)
Regrets: Glynn

o Opening the new bank account:

Rosanna needs a letter on foundation letterhead, signed by an officer of
the foundation, authorising her to open a foundation bank account. She
has made a recommendation that we open an account with the Citizen's Bank.

The initial signatories of the account will be Rosanna and Dave. The
degree to which everyone should have access to online banking facilities
(which includes the ability to make bank transfers) will be decided later.

ACTION: Zana to write the letter that the bank needs and mail it to Dave
to be printed, signed & returned.

 o GUADEC meetings:

Board meeting & foundation AGM on Monday (Dave & Jeff)

Hold the foundation AGM at the end of the day, and have an informal
evening event/hang-out party for foundation members afterwards to allow

GNOME Foundation Board Meeting Minutes :: 7/6/07

GNOME Foundation Meeting Minutes :: 7th June 2007

Present: Anne, Behdad, Dave, Glynn, Jeff, Quim, Vincent
Absent: Rosanna

1) ECMA

We have the opportunity of joining ECMA as a non-profit
member. Jody has expressed an interest in being a representative
for GNOME, and suggested it would also be good to get someone
   there from Abiword.

ACTION: Behdad to contact Jody about the ECMA membership application
and find a good candidate from Abiword to attend. Behdad to
work on getting a press release for our membership.

2) GUADEC Sponsorship

The GUADEC team have come up with an initial list of people to
sponsor, but still have a number of people that would like to
sponsor and have asked if they can spend an extra 5K GBP. Given
the delay in hiring the biz dev position, all feel that we can
spend a little out of that purse, providing there's a little
spread over a few people rather than one or two.

ACTION: Dave to contact GUADEC team to let them know about
the extra sponsorship, and provide some rough guidelines
if there needed to be some priorities made.

3) Biz Dev
