Need help with Gnome panel in Ubuntu 11.04 x86_64

Hello!

For more than 4 months I am having the problem described in the following
post of Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1759706

In short: it seems that in some cases Gnome panel is not drawn properly
leaving some of its parts invisible. More details can be found in the
post (including screenshots).

Nobody helped me in Ubuntu Community, so I decided to ask help from developers.

Thank you in advance for you reply and efforts.

Fedora15 focus issues with Gnome

Hi All,
I am using Fedora15 with the Gnome theme,
but the problem I am facing is that,

When ever i run my Installer which is built using the InstallJammer so at the time of installation,
the first window of installer hides behind the Current Window, even if my installation window hides behind the current window if i do

1) Alt + space its working on my installation window not on current window.
2) Alt + F4 it closes my installation window which was hides behind the current window.
3) If i switch to another work station and come back to the previous work station then it will display the installation window on the top.

So, from that above observation i think that my window is on top but the Gnome is not displaying it on the Top.

Is it a bug in Gnome for Fedora 15 or what ??
Any one has any suggestion or idea.

Hardy

about GIO

Hello, everyone!

Is there a GIO-specific mailing list?? I didn't find anyone at
http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo.
If not then is this the right one for discussing GIO specific issues??

Best regards,

Re: Forming a team for Video Editor

Hi,

Good day, I am developing a video editor and would like input from several people, so we can start planning and preparing this editor. All contributions are welcome. I need experienced programmers in C and C++. Willing to work with GTK and OpenCV (or another library if you prefer). I have good knowledge in C and C++. I know about OpenCV, Pattern recognition and topology.

May I ask what keeps you from joining an existing video editor project (like pitivi)? I am not involved in any, but from my experience with multimedia I know that it takes quite some effort to to build a video editor. Gathering developer resources around a project that is already well on track would help to really push that project forward.

Stefan

We appreciate the contribution!
Thank you very much

This lst is good as gtk-devel (inisde gio) or gtk-app-devel (issue using
gio).

I agree with Stefan on this, the best thing of free software is that you
seldom need to start over a project your self, since it is quite likely
that what you wanna build is started somewhere else ...

Request help to support MPRIS Applet for gnome shell

Hello all!
I'm working on a project called MPRIS Applet, which intend to support
many desktops.
It is a panel applet/plugin that allow controlling media players trough
MPRIS specs. 2 .
Project site: http://mprisapplet.sf.net/

This project needs more developers, but in top priority developer(s)
that could "port" this applet to GNOME SHELL.
I said "port" in quotes because it had a library design, no need in
forking...
Currently supported desktop are GNOME 2/GNOME 3 "fallback mode"
and Xfce4.
the libraries are:
* mpris-applet-base - The core of this package. It's responsible to any
non-graphical jobs(it use glib).
* mpris-applet-gtk - The UI and most user interaction jobs. It has main
GtkBox for interaction with end-user desktop. Support both GTK2 and
GTK3.
And then the part of gnome-mpris-applet and xfce4-mpris-plugin, using
the main box of mpris-applet-gtk.
More info. is in project site.

This is why it's no t a real "porting".
I don't have GNOME Shell in my machine(Debian), because of conflicts
with GNOME 2, and I really prefer not to install GNOME 3.
I'm asking anyone that could try implicate it in SHELL.
PM me for any question. No need to know autotools, just to give me a
working draft and help me testing.

Thanks
Tal
