configure script changes needed

I built Guppi in my (successful!) quest to compile gnucash from source.
Just wanted to flag that the configure script did not alert me about
the following missing requirements:

gnome-print-devel
libglade-devel
esound-devel
db1-devel

I realize this is a long shot but I'm sending this in case anyone (Jean
B?) still maintains this code.

Perceived Software Quality Survey (PESQUS) for GNOME

Dear GNOME Users and Developers:

We are conducting empirical research on the quality and interface aspects
of various open-source and proprietary software. Therefore, we are
investigating the quality of the GNOME desktop software as perceived by
its users. For this purpose, we have created a short survey. We would
highly appreciate it if you could follow the link below and fill out this
survey:

http://www.umbc.edu/hase/gnome-pesqus-survey.html

The developers who use GNOME during their daily computer operations can
respond too.

Many thanks for your help. Apologies if you received more than one copy.

Intro and question

Hello-

My name is Murray and I work at a large manufacturing company in the
Midwest, we are looking at getting off of a SAS license we use for graphing
some performance stats. My interest is in stacked bar charts, I looked and
found some links to screenshots of stacked bars on the guppi site (and on
google), but none of the links was valid (mostly older pages or broken
links to images). Does anyone have a link to a screenshot of Guppi doing
stacked barcharts?

      Thanks, have a good day,

Murray Butler

Trying to compile/port Guppi-0.40.3 on cygwin -- problems with source code in guppi-scatter-state.c

Hi.
I tried to port Guppi-0.40.3 to cygwin (on the path
to getting Gnucash running on cygwin). I have had good
success compiling all the plug-ins code. However, the
compilation fails on linking of cygguppi_scatter.dll
which is the cygwin name of the guppi_scatter.la
shared library. The problem is that in the source code
for guppi-scatter-state.c {Guppi-0.40.3.tar.bz2 has
the version $Id: guppi-scatter-state.c,v 1.29
2002/01/21 02:30:28 jody Exp $} there is a call to
guppi_seq_boolean_new() on line 529. This function is
not defined in any of the Guppi source files.

So, am I using the right sources for Guppi? Has there
been any updates to the source code. Gnome LXR CVS
browser is disabled, and Bonsai does not show any
files at the directory plug-ins/plot/scatter (but it
shows old files in the plug-ins/plot/scatter/Attic
directory). Hence I cannot browse CVS to see what is
latest. I am thus confused on which source version of
Guppi to use.

Thanks
Milind

Screenshots ? SVG?

Greetings Guppiers,

I'm looking for an advanced graphing library, I like GTK and Guppi looks interesting.  Are there any screenshots I can take a look at before installing guppi?  Does Guppi output direclty to SVG?

Any comments and suggestions are **greatly** appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Zitan.

Problem installing Guppi .40.3 in ./configure script on Slackware 9.0 for use with Gnome 2.2

Hi All,
What do I do about gnomeConf.sh? The "prefab" implementation of gnome
2.2 on Slackware 9.0 does not have it, gnomeConf.sh. Is gnomeConf.sh
called something on Slackware 9.0 implementation? Is there a script that
can figure out what should be in gnomeConf.sh and then generate it?

checking for X11/SM/SMlib.h... yes
checking for XpmFreeXpmImage in -lXpm... yes
checking for gnome-config... no
checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found
configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated

compiling goose

          To whom it may concern:
I am trying to compile guppi and it complains that I do not have goose. I downloaded various versions from

Guppi Manual/API

Hi all,

This is the first time I'm looking at guppi. I'd like to integrate it
into a graph application. I was unable to find a manual, API reference,
tutorial or examples. Can somebody please point me to a good reference?

Oh, I'd like to link directly to guppi without the need of bonobo or any
other gnome stuff.

I use Gnome but I'd not like users of my software to install a lot of
software just because of the graphing capabilities. :)

Best regards,

Paulo
