GObject-Introspection 0.5.0

I'm proud to announce the initial release of GObject-Introspection.
Colin Walters and I have been hacking madly on it for the past couple of
weeks and we have finally reached a point to where we're ready for more
more users.

Tarball can be found at:
    http://download.gnome.org/sources/gobject-introspection/0.5/

The goal of the project is to describe the APIs and collect them in
a uniform, machine readable format. The initial target is language bindings,
which are heavy users of this kind of data.

Interesting parts of this release includes:

* GIR - An XML format used to describe APIs
* Typelib - a way to serialize GIR to disk
* libgirepository - C API to access typelib

GIR format is fairly stable, but expect small parts to change.
The typelib format is not complete and will be extended upon in future releases.

There are Perl, Python and Java bindings publicly available using
GObject-Introspection. The gir-repository provides GIRs for common
GObject based libraries (such as pango,gtk,gstreamer,clutter,webkit) until
the libraries themselves ship them.

I'd like to specially thank the following people, who made this release
possible: Matthias Clasen for the initial prototype and general design,
Jürg Biletter for writing a header scanner, Colin Walters for helping out
everywhere and making sure the release got done. Richard Hult & Tor

Announce: GVFS 0.99.6

Another GVFS release with more bug fixes. This time it's version 0.99.6.

For those wondering, GVFS is the GNOME Virtual File System layer, which
provides implementations of various file system protocols, like WebDAV,
FTP, SMB, archive files and so on, to applications.

Download location
=================

http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gvfs/0.99/

Changes since GVFS 0.99.5
=========================

  system move if possible, even when the source and target are handled
  by different backends (e.g. trash and local).
* Now requires libsoup >= 2.23.91.

* Bug fixes
  548841 - Incorrect usage of plural forms in gphoto backend
  547133 - Getting mtime over http backend is broken
  538573 - lastmodified uses ISO 8601 date/time where it should use http-date
  549253 - error path leaks
  549553 - gvfs mangles uri for unhandled schemes
  550100 - gio uses 10^3 base (SI) for volume names
  529971 - Restore from trash appears to do a file copy
  RH 460223 - gnome-mount no longer automatically opens LUKS-encrypted
              partitions

===========
Metacity is a simple EWMH-compliant compositing window manager
which is the default window manager of the GNOME desktop.

(Your maintainer offers humble apologies for this release being a day
late for the second beta of GNOME 2.24: the rule about releases being on
Mondays does not take account of virtual Mondays, but it's nobody's
fault but my own.)

Thanks to Baptiste Mille-Mathias, and Thomas Thurman for improvements in
this version.

Announce: mousetweaks 2.23.91

Hello,

The update of mousetweaks to version 2.23.91 has been released and can
be downloaded from:
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/mousetweaks/2.23/

=======================
    What is mousetweaks ?
=======================

    The mousetweaks package provides the functions offered by the
    Accessibility tab of the Mouse control panel. It also contains
    two panel applets related to the mouse accessibility. More
    particularly:

     1. It offers a way to perform the various clicks without using any
        hardware button. In this context, the Dwell Click panel applet
        can be used to choose what click type to perform.

     2. It allows users to perform a secondary click by doing a
        click&hold of the primary mouse button.

     3. It provides the Pointer Capture panel applet. This applet creates
        an area on the panel into which the pointer can be captured until
        the user releases it with a predefined button and modifier
        combination.
