gnoMint 0.3.1 released

I'm pleased to announce the 0.3.1 version of gnoMint: a graphical
Certification Authority managing tool.

This version add some useful features to 0.1.5 version:

      * gnoMint can export PKCS#12 structures, so certificates created
in the program can be easily imported by other programs as web
        browsers, or mail clients..
      * gnoMint is able to revoke certificates, and generate the
        corresponding Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs).
      * The license has changed to GNU-GPLv3.

It also fixes some nasty bugs:
      * Now, it compiles perfectly in x86-64 architecture, after fixing
        thousands of type casting errors.
      * All the certificates were being created using 0 as serial
number. Now, the internal serial number of each certificate is
        correctly established.

About gnoMint:
==============

gnoMint is a tool for an easy creation and management of Certification
Authorities. It allows a fancy visualization of all the pieces that
conform a CA: x509 certificates, CSRs, CRLs...

Currently, it allows the creation of CAs, CSRs and Certificates, and
export both public and private parts of them into PEM formatted files.
It manages the revocation of the created certificates, as well as the
creation of CRLs.

gnoMint 0.3.2 released

I'm pleased to announce the 0.3.2 version of gnoMint: a graphical
Certification Authority managing tool.

This version fixes some nasty bugs:
The gnoMint databases created by versions prior to 0.3.1 are now
correctly loaded and upgraded.

We must remark that these databases, due to a bug fixed in previous
version 0.3.1, will contain wrong non-CA certificates, as they all share
the same internal serial number 0. This is a problem, because if any of
them is revoked, the generated CRL will invalidate all the certificates.

This way, we recommend to renew all the certificates, and to revoke the
old ones. Sorry for the inconvenience.

About gnoMint:

It manages the revocation of the created certificates, as well as the

certificates able to:

GNOME.conf.au 2008: Call for Presentations Reminder

that the main conference programme has been published, we're reminding you
to get your proposals in and join the fun!

GNOME.conf.au is a casual get together for GNOME lovers in Australia to meet
with their favourite hackers and discuss all things GNOMEy. Make sure to put
your name and t-shirt size on the list if you'd like a GNOME.conf.au SPECIAL

It will be held at the University of Melbourne in co-operation with
Australia's premier Free Software and Open Source contributor's conference,
linux.conf.au 2008... it's going to be a blast! Note that you must be
attending the full conference to be part of the GNOME.conf.au fun (not that
you'd seriously consider missing the main event).

Announce: gio-standalone 0.1.1 and gvfs 0.0.1 released

I'm pleased to announce the first ever tarball release of gio and gvfs!

gio is a platform independent file and I/O abstraction library, with
implementations for local files and ability to extend this with external
modules. Its ultimate goal is to be a separate library inside glib,
similar to the gthread and gobject library, but in order to get people
to test and use it early we're doing separate releases initialy (thus
the "gio-standalone" name).

This release marks a milestone for gio in that we now have a mostly
complete Nautilus port (in the gio-branch of nautilus/eel), which means
that feature-wise gio is pretty much as complete as we need it for now.

The gio API is now in a API/ABI-slush. I.E. its not completely frozen,
as we still want to get feedback and fix and major problems we find.
However, we will do our best to keep API and ABI compatibility if
possible and we don't expect much incompatible changes. So, it should be
pretty safe to start using the API now.

The code is availible at:
ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gio-standalone/0.1
And in the "gio-standalone" module in Gnome svn.

I've also made a release of gvfs. gvfs is a userspace virtual filesystem
where mount runs as a separate processes which you talk to via dbus. It
also contains a gio module that seamlessly adds gvfs support to all
applications using the gio API. It also supports exposing the gvfs
mounts to non-gio applications using fuse.

gvfs comes with a set of backends, including trash support, sftp and
