Questions about Caribou requirements

Hi Folks,

Students at Western New England College are working on creating written requirements for Caribou. During their investigation, they have identified some questions about the requirements for Caribou. We would like to kindly request some help in answering these questions. I’ve added a page listing the questions at the bottom of the main Caribou page. The direct link is:

http://live.gnome.org/Caribou/RequirementsQuestions

If it is acceptable with the community, answers embedded in the wiki would be most helpful. Or email me directly.

Please let me know if there are any questions and we very much appreciate the help!

Heidi

Re: gnome-mag doesn't work for me

OK. Now I have got a patch to fix the bug and pasted on the bug page.
Who is reviewing gnome-mag patches now? Fernando, it would be great if
you can review the patch.

Thanks,
Li

a11y team plans for the Boston Summit

The Boston Summit is less than a month away. Here are the details
about this GNOME event if you hadn't heard:

   http://live.gnome.org/Boston2010

Who from the a11y team is planning to go? Does the a11y team have
plans to do any work at the Boston Summit?

The BOF Schedule is pretty empty, so if people have plans to work
on things, it would be good to let us know and update the Wiki
page:

   http://live.gnome.org/Boston2010/SessionProposals

Surely, we have plans to work on more than just Snowy.

I will be there. And, pending approval of travel sponsorship, Ale is
planning on being there as well. Our plans are to work on Orca, of
course. :-) Beyond that, it's my intent to work with the WebKitGtk
developers in attendance and Ale's to work with the eZoom developer.

We do indeed, but we -- at least Ale and I -- didn't have any a11y BOF
sessions in mind; instead, we were hoping to continue the work we've
started in Sevilla. After all, there's no shortage of work to do.... In
addition, I think there is value in being present at other BOFs in order
to stay up to speed on what the rest of the community has planned and
what impact that might have on GNOME a11y.

Still there might be some value in putting something together on the
BOF page just to highlight that the a11y team is going to be there and
is planning to do some work. It would be useful if the BOF page
provided a bit more insight into what work the a11y team has planned.
If there are any a11y sessions, I will surely attend since I will be
there.

Already told Joanie through IRC, but just for the record: I won't be
attending, even if I'd love to do it (mostly due to personal reasons),
to keep working in WebkitGtk related stuff.

Still, Martin Robinson and Xan Lopez will be there so I hope some
WebKitGtk+ related a11y stuff will be done anyway O:-)

Yes, this is a important feature, but for your information there are
already a application with this feature.

It is implemented as a applet on the gnome-panel. It is being included
in most of the linux distributions that include gnome.

A rough explanation of how to install it:
 1. Put your mouse on your panel
 2. Right click
 3. Add to panel
 4. Select "Keyboard Accessibility Status"

If Sticky keys are activated, it should show 6 indicators.

Or you are talking about GNOME 3? We already have written it as a
issue to solve [1], and some mock-ups have it already.

Hope have solved your doubts.

It is implemented as a applet on the gnome-panel. It is being included
in most of the linux distributions that include gnome. I have attached
one screenshot with this activated (Top right, one key already
pressed).

A rough explanation of how to install it:
 1. Put your mouse on your panel
 2. Right click
 3. Add to panel
 4. Select "Keyboard Accessibility Status"

If Sticky keys are activated, it should show 6 indicators.
