Problems while starting a gnome-session ...

Environment:

garnome-0.30.1 is being used to build gnome
at-spi-1.3.12

Problem:
While executing the gnome-session script I got the following error in /var/log/messages:

Mar  5 11:05:13 debian bonobo-activation-server (quedev-740): iid OAFIID:BrokenNoType:20000808 has a NULL type
Mar  5 11:05:13 debian bonobo-activation-server (quedev-740): invalid character '#' in iid 'OAFIID:This#!!%$iid%^$%_|~!OAFIID_ContainsBadChars'

I used google to search for similar problems, and after browsing some mailing-lists, my best guess was to direct questions about my problem to this mailing list. IF this is not the correct place to send questions about this error, I would appreciate a proper redirection :-)

Follow up:

ANy ideas on how to get around this ... BTW, I haven't been able to start a gnome session successfully, for the screen freezes when this error is logged.

Possible answers found:

1) at-spi not installed correctly: I've already checked this, and it seems to be properly installed ( at-spi-registerd is working correctly )

gnopernicus new linux install

Hallo,
I want to use Gnome with gnopernicus+festival/viavoice in a new Linux
installation.
Which Linux distro should I install for best compatibility and easy
install of gnopernicus?
I tried it with a older Mandrake 9.0 and gnopernicus 0.7.1 package, but
it was not possible to install successfully.
Please send me a tip
Thanks Tom

Your GUADEC paper ...

Dear Bill,

Thank you for submitting an abstract for GUADEC. This year we
have received many high quality papers, and for reasons of space and
available time, have had to turn down some promising candidates.

On behalf of the paper review committee I'm sorry to say your
paper "Beyond the Universal Desktop" paper, didn't make it this year -
however we really want a technical / interactive / developers angle on
accessibility - so would you consider expanding the scope of your BOF
beyond GOK to the full architecture, and submitting another abstract in
place of that ?

	Best regards,

		Michael.

Is 391 the record number of appearances Bernardo Miguel made for Barcelona?

Yes, and it's also the number of accessibility bugs we have open today.

8 Stoppers (-5 since 2nd March) in=2, out=7
29 Candidate stoppers (-12) in=7, out=19
232 Significant, not stoppers (+9)	in=29, out=20
122 Lesser impact (0) in=0, out=0

14 of which (-12) are as yet untriaged by the accessibility team.

List of open bugs only:

Accessibility theme regressions

So, as a result of people changing the names of icons in .desktop files
during 2.6 development (mostly in the Desktop Preferences menu), it
seems we now have around a dozen icons on our main menu that don't theme
properly any more when you switch to a High or Low contrast theme.
(There are also reports of similar theming regressions in applets, but I
haven't had a chance to verify those.)

If people change the name of the icon in their .desktop file, or develop
an application that uses a new icon, a heads-up to the gnome-themes
maintainers via bugzilla or email really would be much appreciated[1],
so we can keep all the themes in sync.

If we have time to make them, would patches for these regressions be
accepted before 2.6.0, or is the code freeze too cold now...?

Cheeri,
Calum.

[1] And a patch even moreso :)

Yes, because they would basically be risk free as far as I can tell.
But, please do send the patches to release-team as per the usual process
...

Thanks,
Mark.

When will shut-up be implemented for Gnopernicus?

Hi
Just wondering when the shut-up user-defined key will be implemented for
Gnopernicus, as it is sometimes annoying reading long portions of text and
only being able to stop it by pressing the arrows or keys on the number pad.

Thanks

Luke
