Bug in Revision 898 -> 899

Hello list,

unfortunately there is a bug in the patch from Defiance. If we have a
multi-page gump like the account list gump or the .go gump the gump will
be removed after closing but the callback routine is not finished. This
will result in the behaviour, thats not possible to create new accounts
in the admin gump nor use the .go command.

If I comment the line 6201 in Mobile.cs, which should contain

m_NetState.RemoveGump(gump);

the .go gump works correctly, as well as the account list to create a
new account.

Best regards

Maik

SunUO 0.5.1

Hi,

I am proud to announce the release of SunUO 0.5.1.

 http://www.sunuo.org/download.html
 http://download.berlios.de/sunuo/sunuo-0.5.1.zip

It finally supports the client version 6.0.5.0, and it fixes a bunch
of severe vulnerabilities, see the NEWS file for details. Some of the
patches were ported from RunUO 2.0, again.

Merry X-mas!

New user

Greetings

I am experiencing some problems getting started.  First, I downloaded and installed the UO client (Mondain’s Legacy, I think was the version name) from FilePlanet, but when I started it to patch the client up, the patcher choked when it tried to apply the first patch, and quit with an error message saying that I might not be using a valid client.  What client should I be using?

I also have a question about editing the ./etc/sunuo.xml file.  The example in the documentation seems to presume a Linux system for the data-path example (<data-path>/usr/local/games/uo</data-path>), but I am running a Windows XP system.  I entered something like <data-path>c:/Program Files/uo</data-path>.  SunUO didn’t barf when I launched it, but neither did it find the client when I started it and tried to enter a user name and password.  In the client, the message I got seemed to indicate that it tried and failed to log into the regular game.

Perhaps this is because I am not using a valid client, either because I have the wrong client, or perhaps because the client I have failed to patch, but if there is some other configuration step I should be performing, or if I have screwed up the <data-path> declaration, it isn’t obvious from your documentation.

Since SunUO supports both Windows and Linux, it would be helpful to provide example for both platforms in the documentation.

Thanks

Owain

2007-08-22 09:56:48,641 ERROR System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: Connection reset by peer
  at System.Net.Sockets.Socket+SocketAsyncResult.CheckIfThrowDelayedException () [0x00000]
  at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.EndReceive (IAsyncResult result) [0x00000]
  at Server.Network.NetState.OnReceive (IAsyncResult asyncResult) [0x00000]

I never had error like this...

Got any idea why it drops the client?

The patch was pulled from RunUO's public subversion repository.  Many
thanks to the RunUO team for developing this patch.

Good to see that the Open Source principle works for us.  Last year,
Mark replaced RunUO's hard-coded 10ms sleep() invocation with SunUO's
tickless event-based system.

Anyone Alive?

So is it just me and one other guy that still frequents this mailing list? Is the development of SunUO still moving forward or should I look at compiling runuo 2.0 under mono for my linux fix. I'm not trying to start a flamewar sunuo vs runuo, just wondering if I should continue with this project?

SunUO support of newest clients

Any chance of SunUO being updated to support 6.0.1.10 or later versions? I'd help but I'm just a casual scripter.

Also, I realize there were mailing lists long before forums existed but why haven't you guys moved to a forum? It seems a much easier medium to hold discussions. Just curious :)
