FontForge Icons

Hi,

Thought I'd forward this on :-)

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: George Williams <gww@...>
Date: 2008/6/16
Subject: [Fontforge-devel] Icons for menus
To: fontforge-devel@...

Some of you may have noticed that the cvs tree contains little icons in
the menus.

I'm not the greatest icon designer.

If anyone would like to redo them so they are nicer that would be great.
There is one unexpected caveat: FontForge doesn't handle alpha channels,
so all icons should be indexed images with a transparent color. (This
corresponds to an alpha channel which is either all on or all off inside
gimp).

Or someone could write a patch to fix this limitation....
(just pointing out alternatives here...)

I am well aware of the alternative. The amount of work is quite large.
Feel free to take it on.

George, I didn't mean to sound critical and I'm sorry if my comment
appeared that way. The work to design icons can be large too,
but is likely to be done by different people.

Best,

Liam

Heuristica font

Draft of Heuristica fonts is available at ftp://ftp.dvo.ru/pub/Font/heuristica .
It is based on the Adobe Utopia font with Cyrillic added (currently only to
Regular typeface). The font is distributed under the terms of OFL 1.1.

Uploading fonts to OFLib

When I attempt to upload a font I can only figure out how to get a single file
into the package. But I notice that other people seem to manage to get multiple
files.

For instance the Promocyja Download contains three things.

How is this done? The File field of the
http://openfontlibrary.org/media/submit/font upload page only accepts a single
file. Is there a way to add files to a package after it has been created?

Re: Uploading fonts to OFLib

I believe it is done after the fact once a file is uploaded. Figured out
now?
