Yes, I completely agree. The Open Font Library needs some more
developers to help move the system along as well as a couple of people
to keep the list alive. Would anyone like to volunteer for either of
those tasks. I will do my best to help point things out :)

:) Yah, the holidays have impacted our schedules :) Don't worry, things
are ramping up again :)

Thanks for this - I've added it to the list of quality freeware fonts
at http://www.openfontlibrary.org/wiki/index.php/Existing_Free_Fonts -
I hope to ask the owners of these fonts to consider using the OFL when
the OFLB is functional and more attractive.

Here's the non-free license information for these fonts. They are very
nice though! :-)

They are excellent! But NC-ND read stricly means you cannot actually use
them in any derivative works at all, for example in any typography. ;-)

Its not CC ND-NC, and the license is pretty clear that its fine for
use in commercial typographic design work.

D'oh you are right.

This was one of a number of fonts I looked at via Digg and I confused it
with another one. The bit about it being very cool still stands.

Sorry about that.

Could you or someone else on the list try to get this person involved in
our community?

I am planning to do this, but I think active recruitment for this
project is premature at the moment.

I am mainly waiting for OFL1.1 to come out, so that we can do the
Creative Commons style metadata, so that we can plug OFL into ccHost,
and have OFL fonts in the library.

We - well, yourself Jon and Alexandre Prokoudine - also need to pick
the project logo from those submitted to the wiki -
http://www.openfontlibrary.org/wiki/index.php/Contests - so that we
can upgrade the graphic design of the site.

This visual appeal of the site cannot be underestimated, if it is to
attract design talent, imo :-)

FOSS and the Commercial Print World

http://www.constant.irisnet.be/~constant/ospublish/

"Craig Bradney and Peter Linnell discuss the future of Free and Open Source Software for commercial
printing:

Right now, I would say the biggest weakness from an FOSS point of view is there are few good high
quality fonts. It is one of those areas which requires tremendous amounts of QA to make them reliable
in the commercial print world. This is highlighted throughout our documentation."
