Hello community,
With the goal of
consolidating our mailing lists and making sure people know where to post their
questions where they’ll be most actively discussed and quickly answered,
we’re proposing to merge our mifos-functional mailing lists into the
mifos-users mailing list. Since the launch of our mifos-users mailing
list in October 2008, traffic and activity on our mifos-functional list has
begun to slow down as the topics of discussion between the two are quite
similar.
Making this change will
greatly simplify where users and developers go for questions and
discussion. By consolidating traffic in one place – it will improve
the speed in which outstanding responses get answered. Technical
discussion will take place on mifos-developers. Non-technical discussion
on implementing Mifos and its functionality will take place on
mifos-users.
If you have any objections or
suggestions to better improve our mailing lists, please let us know.
Otherwise, we’ll close out the mifos-functional list on Friday March 24.
Archives will still be available from sourceforge.net, gmane, and google groups.
From here on forward, please
use mifos-users for discussion that you previously would have held on
mifos-functional.
What this means for you:
-
Conversations that
will now take place on mifos-users and not mifos-functional:
o Discussing
design of new features to be developed
o Asking
questions about current functionality
o Investigating
potential bugs in the system from a functional perspective
These join the existing list of topics for mifos-users located
here: http://www.mifos.org/developers/listserv/mailing-list-topics
-
Existing
mifos-functional subscribers will be subscribed to mifos-users.
-
Any in-progress discussion
topics on mifos-functional will be migrated to mifos-users.
Thanks,
Ed Cable
