vos should honor maxquota argument or return error

Invoke vos as follows:

vos create someserver a somevolumename 5000000000

Vos will create a volume with some arbitrary maxquota
and return success. In case of an overflow vos should
either

	* not create the volume and return an error

	* create the volume with maximal possible
quota and issue a warning to the user

What maxquota the volume actually gets in the example above is left as
an exercise for the curious, but is not 5TB. (I'm only a proxy for
this error report) and differs between OpenAFS and Arla I'm told.

My timeouts when emacs moves (copies) files - my email to AFS

Moves to AFS are interrupted with "network is down".

Log: What's error 3791? And then the rx call times out :-(
I have no other ways to reproduce than to run mew in
emacs on my email :-( It does not happen all the time. I
suspect that I need to idle about the time it takes to
write one or two emails.

or something else that has tickled your brain while working with AFS
and/or Kerberos.

The AFS & Kerberos Best Practices Workshop is a week long conference
for the novice and the experienced. The week is filled with two
full-day classes introducing AFS and Kerberos and two and one half
days of talks by your peers and colleagues. This year's workshop will
be held June 12-16 on the campus of the University of Michigan, Ann
Arbor.

CFP closes on April 21, notifications on May 1.

As far as I can see, Arla tries to create with a quota of INT_MAX kbytes,
which is the maximum quota allowed by the protocol. Best effort, sort of.

Nicer error handling in agetarg() would be nice. Any suggestions?

It's the return value, which in this case is the number of bytes written.
That part looks good to me, 3791 is what you asked for.

Not so good. IIRC, you've had other timeout issues before. Could this be
related? It does look like a clean (create+)write that times out.

This isn't -current, right?

current-20060318, but same behaviour since 1/2 year and 3 kernel versions ago.

Sorry, didn't spot the symlink sunet-fail -> /afs/...

Anyway, the next step is probably tcpdump/eftereal to see what rx is up to.
After disabling encryption, I keep forgetting that.

Please don't do this. openafs-bugs is an RT queue; sending a message both
to it and to a public mailing list makes it likely that list subscribers
will create new tickets when replying to the list traffic.

OOps! So arla-drinkers, please remove the to: openafs-bugs <at> openafs.org or
add the right tag. Sorry for the inconvinience.

Problem in creating module for nnpfs

I tried to compile arla-0.36.2. I run ./configure with the given below options.

./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-krb5-lib=/usr/lib/heimdal-servers/ --with-krb5-include=/usr/include/ --with-sys=/usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.8

But it shows the status as,
config.status: error: cannot find input file: doc/Makefile.in

It creates Makefile for nnpfs. So I run make in that nnpfs/linux directory. It throws an error:
/usr/src/modules/arla/nnpfs/linux/kbuild-work/nnpfs_dev.c: In function nnpfs_init_device:
/usr/src/modules/arla/nnpfs/linux/kbuild-work/nnpfs_dev.c:839:error: 'MUTEX' undeclared (first use in this function)

how to create nnpfs module?
