How do I recover my consoles after a 3270 client failure?

Hello all,
I experienced this problem recently, so I searched on Hercules
documentation and i found this question answered on FAQ documentation
from MVS (www.jaymoseley.com/hercules/installmvs/mvsfaq.htm). Follow
the piece of text:

here

version and >issued the external interrupt command:

   :

here
I tried issue these commands on Hercules console, but it seems not
cause effect on my 3270 client. The client window remains frozen even
after I pressed ENTER ater EXT (nothing occur). I didn't get issue
the [V 011,CONSOLE] command after it.
I think that EXT command doesn't work (by it the seems to me).
Has anyone experienced the same problem ?
Is there another solution to execut it or I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance.
