Configure error: cannot compute sizeof (char)

I'm trying to compile pearpc 0.4 on Mac OS 10.4.9 on a 2.16ghz MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo, ATI X1600), and configure fails with

"checking size of char... configure: error: cannot compute sizeof (char), 77".

Is there a fix for this?

memory problems in pearpc

hello.

Thanks to the PearPC. I could at last solve my worries.

I've been meaning to run Mac OSX on a pc because I would need it to
experiment on presentations and designs in case my boss needs me to make
presentations for him. I would need pearpc for testing, since I don't
have a mac, and it would be too bad If I had to bug my boss all the time
just to test his mac. and sadly Im in the phils., where there's just a
few macs in the neighborhood.

I've got my Boss's Mac cds, (10.4.6), rest assured its PowerPC. My only
problem on running the software is that at the end it says

ive tried searching all the forums, but to no avail... my head is
already aching and I had to stop...

If youve got the solution to this problem, please let me know. I would
badly need it and I would really appreciate if you responded. My PC's
specs is
3ghz pentium d, 1gb ram, 80gb hd.

Thanks a lot.

Is there some configure.log (or config.log) created? If so, please post
the last lines, it should contain a better error message.

Never heard of this problem. Sounds like an installation problem of gcc
or something.
