I have the same error on PearPC 0.3.1, or more precisely:

GenuineIntel
 CMOV MMX 3DNOW SSE SSE2
[Display/SDL]: Making new window 800 x 600
main() caught exception: TUNSETIFF failed.
[Display/SDL]: changeRes got called
[Display/SDL]: SDL: Changing resolution to 800x600x15
[Display/SDL]: can use SWSURFACE
[Display/SDL]: can use HWACCEL

I have tried both network cards with no change. When they are disabled,
Darwin boots up just dandy. It is perhaps notable that I am using
kernel 2.6.11-ck4, very nearly the same kernel as Leonard.

For fun, I ran 'strace ppc darwin.config' and got the following output
at the end:

(...lots of lines like the one below)
brk(0x81350000) = 0x81350000
write(1, "[Display/SDL]: Making new window"..., 43[Display/SDL]: Making
new window 800 x 600
) = 43

Wasn't that solved as a permission problem with /dev/net/tun ?

Nope. I have pearpc running happily now under a different kernel
(gentoo's 2.6.11-hardened-r1, with pax and grsec) with the same, or
actually tighter, permissions on /dev/net/tun. It's a kernel
compatibility issue. I have no idea whether pearpc or Con Kolivas is at
fault, but that appears to be the conflict.

Now I just need to figure out how to make DNS work in Darwin...

ioctl(6, TUNSETIFF, 0xbfffec90) = -1 EBUSY (Device or resource busy)
Hmmm, that is strange.

Libpcap support

Hi!

I have a windows machine on which I cannot install a tun adapter. Does
PearPC have support for libpcap, so I can use PearPC with an existing
interface ?

I.ve managed to get 0.31 working under Linux on my laptop, but can't get
OS/X 10.2 working with the network adapter. I've gotta admit I'm all
at sea hwre.

Anyone have any clues >?

Bare metal linux requirements for pearpc?

Sebastian, Et al.

What is the bare metal (core os) requirements for pearpc - trying to
find the smallest Linux distro that runs pearpc on it.

Without the extra's that make Linux nice but unneeded for osx use.

I'm running it on Libranet 3.0 (Debian based) which was a fairly small
install (around 600Mb I think)

RE: Bare metal linux requirements for pearpc?

Was looking for someone that said it runs under DSL - 40mb? Just would
like to turn my dog slow very small 166 MHz 48mb 2gb notebooks into
Lombard notebooks (-:

No Network after Software Update

Hi guys

I had OS X 10.3 running perfectly on WI\in XP Pro box and now after Mac
Software Update to all the latest patches the network is still there but
it can't get an IP address anymore. Has anyone come accross this
problem before?

Thanks

Vivian
