pumbaa downtime

Hello,

seems to be no good week for hard disks - one of the disks in pumbaa
just got broken (different datacenter, different machine than earlier
this week).

Disks here are NOT hot-swappable, which means a downtime will occur.
This will affect

	- internal TDF lists ( <at> lists.documentfoundation.org), but not the
public mailing liszs
	- TDF e-mail ( <at> documentfoundation.org) but not <at> libreoffice.org
	- Redmine

The downtime should be only 10-15 minutes. We will keep you posted. TDF
infra is also on #tdf-infra at Freenode.

Sorry for the inconveniences,
Florian

Services affected by maintenance window

Hi,

during todays maintenance window, all services might experience a short outage as servers are rebooted
for security reasons.
The image size of the ask-LibreOffice VM is increased, so the outage of ask.libreoffice.org might be
slightly longer.

Sorry for the inconveniences,
Alex

LibreOffice 5.0 Draft Messaging

- third generation of LibreOffice: first generation code cleaning
(LibreOffice 3.x), second generation refactoring (LibreOffice 4.0),
third generation multiplatform and user interface (LibreOffice 5.0)

- sum of all tweaks and additions since 2010 produce a cleaner, faster,
smarter and more attractive application

- the overall results show the power of a forward looking community,
based on the huge strength of shared knowledge, versus the weakness of
enterprise sponsored open source projects, which try to mimic the
proprietary software world

- in addition, the fact that ODF is now supported by a competitive free
office suite makes ODF not only a reality but a viable reality for
document formats

- the list of new features follows at this point
