Upgrade of dauntless host delayed - vm138 affected

Hi,

during tonights maintenance window our virtualization host dauntless was upgraded to Debian 8. After
rebooting, GRUB entered rescue mode as it could not load the linux module (symbol grub_realidt not
found). Manual recovery of grub failed with the same error.
Also the BIOS failed to detect the attached emergency-USB flash drive that should be used as fallback in
case of boot failure. I have therefore contacted manitu support so that they can ensure that booting from
the USB drive gets possible again.

Sorry for the inconveniences,
Alex

Splash, startcenter & About dialog updates for 5.0

Hi,

It was brought to my attention that some people did not notice in the
ESC and Design meeting minutes that the graphics for the splash,
startcenter, and the about dialog will update for 5.0, so let me write
some details.

The process is ongoing for several weeks now, the overall design will be
based on

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90452#c45

and on ideas got from the contest (mostly Jun Nogata's splash - but it
is not taken verbatim):

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/Whiteboards/5.0_Branding

The final look is driven by a visual identity group that has
representatives from Marketing, Design, and the TDF board.

The hope is that the next RC will contain at least some of the work, and
that all of you (and all our users) will like it :-)

All the best,
Kendy

Doodle: LibreOffice Marketing / General Release Meeting

We are approaching the launch of LibreOffice 5.0, in early August.

To prepare the announcement, and to discuss marketing activities for the
second half of 2015 (and beyond), there will be a marketing and general
release meeting in early July.

Everyone is invited to attend, and contribute to the next major
announcement of LibreOffice.

The Doodle poll "LibreOffice Marketing Meeting" to organize the call is
available at the following link: http://doodle.com/8k4vu4sqg8ss8vqq.

Share the link with all those who should participate. Do not forget to
cast your vote, too.

Details for the conference call will be provided at a later stage.

Publication of ledgers

Dear community,
Dear members,

we are glad to announce we have finally begun publishing our accounting
ledgers to the general public. As part of our transparency and openness
principles, TDF is committed to publishing its accounting ledgers on a
regular basis from now on.

Accounting is done by a professional accountant, and the resulting
ledgers are slightly anonymized and translated. The style of the ledgers
is defined by our tax/accounting requirements and changes are possible
only on a very limited basis. However, TDF is happy to receive feedback
and comments especially on the translations, so we can incorporate these
in future ledger translations.

So far, all ledgers from the previous quarter are online, April and May
will follow very soon, most likely today or tomorrow.

You can find them at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/TDF/Ledgers

That being said, thank you very much for your ongoing support, your
valuable contributions and your donations, which make TDF what it is
today and contribute greatly to the ongoing success of the LibreOffice
community!

I'd like to also thank Sophie Gautier for her work on getting the
translations in place - thank you very much, Sophie!

Florian
