We haven't been able to deploy the new stats hardware yet.  It is
currently sitting and waiting to be delivered to the colo.  Once
decibel gets back in town, we'll try to coordinate and get it
deployed.  Hopefully that will be week of Nov 8, but it depends on his
availability.

In the mean time, we put stats back into read-write mode a couple of
days ago.  (We'll just have to do another database sync prior to doing
the final cutover, in order to avoid losing any user modifications.)

Android OS client

Good day.

and was amazed with 1GHz processors in mobile phones.

So I just want to know - when we'll see an Android client? =)))

I sure wouldn't be interested in that...  slow as ever compared to the parallel processors, and not to forget it would drain the heck out of your phone battery and have that hot from the overworked processor.  :-)  Just sayin....  :-)

why let PCs have all the fun?

I just happened to look at the pre-release page on a whim and saw that there are some new clients coming...
Macs are *finally* getting a 64-bit client. Looks like it was snuck on the website about a week ago.

I'd highly encourage any Mac users out there to grab it and give it a test - your OGR rates will go up quite nicely.

ATI Radeon 6850 performance

Does anyone have a Radeon 6850 or 6870?

I just got a Radeon 6850, and I'm not seeing what I expected for 
throughput.

With Priority set to 4, I'm only getting ~495 Mkeys/s  I would expect to see
more of 960 Stream Processors at 875 MHz.

I'm sure the client needs to be fine-tuned for 6000 series performance.  I'm sure our coder for the ATI client, sla-naS0PBQ5js5d3aXB8m+yKQ@public.gmane.org, would be interested in using your card as a "test case" - I suggest you contact him directly with your results.

Reasonably happy with my 6870 performance.  649,014,931 keys/sec
sometimes peaking to a little over 750,000,000 keys/sec.

Yes but my 5750 gets 771,000,000 (approx) keys/sec, that card should be getting more than that.  Like I mentioned, I'm sure we will soon design a new core for 6000 series cards, or tweak an existing one.

Really? My 5770 only gets around 450Kkeys/sec. I would think a 5750 would be slower. Am I doing something wrong?
