Thunar Bulk rename - button size problem

Hello, guys,

I've recently discovered that Thunar Bulk Rename has a too big
button in media tags rename regime.
What's that?

I've tried both custom theme and Clearlooks, then my Debian sid box and
self-compiled Gentoo box of my friend. They are all the same!

Where is the source of po/Makefile.in.in?

Hi,

I'm trying to run "make distcheck" in the xfce4-genmon-plugin, and I'm
running into the following error:

make[2]: Entering directory `/home/john/xfce4-genmon-plugin/xfce4-genmon-plugin-3.3.1/_build/po'
XGETTEXT_ARGS="--keyword=Q_ --from-code=UTF-8" INTLTOOL_EXTRACT=/usr/bin/intltool-extract
XGETTEXT=/usr/bin/xgettext --keyword=Q_ --from-code=UTF-8 srcdir=../../po
/usr/bin/intltool-update --gettext-package xfce4-genmon-plugin --pot
/bin/sh: --keyword=Q_: command not found
make[2]: *** [xfce4-genmon-plugin.pot] Error 127

The problem is that $(XGETTEXT) contains spaces and therefore should be
placed within quotation marks in the following line in po/Makefile.in.in:

GENPOT   = XGETTEXT_ARGS="$(XGETTEXT_ARGS)" INTLTOOL_EXTRACT=$(INTLTOOL_EXTRACT)
XGETTEXT=$(XGETTEXT) srcdir=$(srcdir) $(INTLTOOL_UPDATE) --gettext-package $(GETTEXT_PACKAGE) --pot

However, this file is auto-generated during autogen.sh, and I cannot
find its source or even what tool it is generated by. Help, please?

Restore window size and position

Hello,

does anybody know if there is a possibility for a application to

instruct the window manager/session manager to save and restore

the position and size of a window?

Tibeti server problems

Last week the 'new' Tibeti server had some trouble (memory and disk
problems), fortunately for us the University of Namur had some Sun
V20z servers lying around and this morning a new-ish server was
installed and so {git.archive.users}.xfce.org should be running fine
again. Raid has been synchronized and so we're back on full power.

Proposal for MIME type editor

Hi!

I am one of the german translators and just compiled and translated the
MIME type editor. I found the string for resetting the MIME type to
system standard but I was really getting mad finding it in the
application!

There are 3 columns, "MIME Type", "Status" and "Default Application".
I found it, you have to LEFT click on the default application in the
row with the MIME type! But I really found it by accident, so I would
like to propose a better handling:

Normally you do a RIGHT click to open a context menu, so I would
prefere a RIGHT click instead of a LEFT one.

You can't see that the "Default Application" is a button, so in my
opinion it would be better, if you could use the whole row
instead of the single column for clicking.

Short: You should activate the contextmenu by rightclicking on the
whole row.

By the way, really nice app, lean and does its job. I often read about
people looking for such a tool, thanks for it!

nick/settings-manager needs testing

Last evening I've pushed the category-based settings dialog. Maybe
some folks can give it a shot.

Big changes:
- Category-based.
- Uses Garcon for items
- Pluggable dialogs by default (you can't disable it).

Todo:
- Need to restore the --dialog option.
- Maybe I add middle click to open-without-pluggable.

Everything else should be working at it was.

To test the dialog (nick/settings-manager branch), you also need
garcon from master (2 new .directories required) and exo for some
fixes and new api in exo-icon-view.

Error installing 4.9.0 xfce4-panel

Greetings:
I just installed xfce4-panel in Debian Testing and I had no problems with this, but when I reloaded the
panel, I got this error:

xfce4-panel: symbol lookup error: xfce4-panel: undefined symbol: xfce_panel_plugin_mode_get_type

I had to reinstall version 4.8 that comes in the repository, but before I had to remove xfce4-panel in
/usr/share/local/bin. I tried to copy the /usr/share/local/bin/xfce4-pnael to /usr/bin/ but kept
giving me error. What I can do?

Doubts about xfce4-settings-editor

Greetings:

I have some doubts about xfce4-settings-editor

- Xfce4-settings-editor in Xfce is just as gconf-editor in Gnome?
- You can make xfce4-settings-editor do the same as gconf-editor? In other words, you can manage some
global variables such as network configuration.
- Finally. Is there any documentation where you can see all the options can be added to xfce4-settings-editor?

Best Regards

Mime-type editor, where to put it?

Folks,

Last evening I wrote a mime-type editor. It more or less looks like
firefox's about:config: list of mime types with their associated
default handler and you can see the edits of the current users. All in
all a usable interface to quickly set and edit default handlers.

So where to put it? In bug #6113 we all (except for me ^_^) thought it
should be in integrated in the preferred applications dialog, but now
I wrote this, I can tell you this is not a wise idea, not in a
separate tab at least.

The required window needs to be way bigger then the comboboxes in
exo's preferred apps require (not the mention the current preferred
application and mime-types are completely different), so that's not
going to work. The code also only depends on gio and libxfce4ui.

So where to drop the code? It could be in Thunar but also in
xfce4-settings, possibly with a link/button to the dialog in preferred
apps.
