OroboROX Install

I use Fluxbox with Ubuntu and use rox-filer. I'd like to check out
oroborox but I get the following error when I try to install it with Zero
Install

OroboROX
(c) 2004 Guido Schimmels
(c) Distributed under the terms and conditions of the GPL

Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name
net.sf.rox.Session was not provided by any .service files
waiting for a child

** (process:25666): WARNING **: dbus-send failed. You should probably
upgrade your ROX-Session

I've tried searching but I couldn't find an answer that works. I posted
on the Ubuntu forums and got no responses. Can someone here help me?

Thanks,
Tony

Re: OroboROX Install

Hi Tony

I think OroboROX only works with ROX-Session which, as the name implies, is a session manager (i.e. it
controls the initial desktop and autostart). It's a window manager (like Fluxbox), so you'd use it in lieu
of FB. In which case you might as well have ROX-Session (note: once you've got R-S up and running you can
easily switch between OroboROX and any other WM you like).

Re: OroboROX Install

I either type 'rox -S' in term or I select rox as my window manager when
I log in. It asked to setup the when I clicked on Rox-session to log out.

That's a bug fixed in OroboROX 0.9.10, unfortunately the OroboROX in Zero
Install is only version 0.9.7.7. You should install it the old fashioned
way.
