Re: [U2] RE: Switching from D3 to U2

I too am interested in this comparison.

The majority of my clients are D3 yet I have 1 or 2 UV and UD clients, hence
the straddling.

I know that U2 products have many more technical features but I would like
to see where it gets admin heavy versus D3.

Thanks

[U2] UV phantoms

Universe 10.0.8, Solaris 9.

We are currently suffering with phantoms taking a while to complete.
For example "PHANTOM LISTU" took 9 minutes to respond as "Done".
I also believe we have a related problem when terminating a session with "OFF" which can take minutes to give
the unix prompt back.
I recall from the University sessions last year that changing the UVSYNC parameter in uvconfig to zero will
cure this.
Has anyone any experience with this?

Re: [U2] UV phantoms

This probably isn't the problem, but do you ever clear the &PH& file?

[U2] U2UG Elections...

Calling all U2UG Members on this list...

You should have received today an email with voting instructions to elect
the new U2UG Board members for 2008.

If not, and you're one of the 400 mail delivery failures cluttering my
Inbox, you are still eligible to vote!

Just find a few minutes over the next week to sign into www.u2ug.org and hit
the Elections link.
You'll find candidate biographies and voting form waiting. You can change
your mind, too, right up to the end of the ballot on 10th February.

We have a strong slate of candidates willing to represent you and to carry
on the exciting work of the U2UG, so make your vote count.
After all, it's probably the only really important election this year and
unlike most others, it shouldn't cost you a penny!

(and please check the email address on your user profile..)

Thanks

Brian

[U2] UV ODBC Oddity

Hi

We was wondering if anyone could help, we have users that have old
queries that they have run in MS Query before with no problem using IBM
ODBC query drivers.

What we are having now is when they open a query it reports an error
around "TS" and when you look at the sql statement, rather than passing
a date it is now passing a date and time, now obviously UV does not seem
to be able to handle this.

Any ideas would be great

We have UV 10.2.4 on AIX 5.2

Thanks

Sunny

I'd look at the &PH& directory, if it's loaded, it'll take unix and
universe a bit of time to work through it. And if your system is like
many I've seen, both the &PH& and the &SAVEDLISTS& directories are often
not maintained. On the same note, uvtemp is often cluttered with the
temp files from selects, captures and executes...
