[U2] Error process XML files

Hi all.

I was testing a program to extract XML data using Universe BASIC's
PrepareXML, OpenXMLData functions and so on and I got the following error
messsages:

Program "TEST.EXTRACT.XML": Line 8, Can't load
"/usr/uv/bin/libxalan-c1_3.sl": shared lib error: No such file or
directory
Program "TEST.EXTRACT.XML": Line 8, Can't load
"/usr/uv/bin/libxalan-c1_3.sl": shared lib error: Not enough space
Program "TEST.EXTRACT.XML": Line 10, Can't load
"/usr/uv/bin/libxalan-c1_3.sl": shared lib error: Not enough space

We are running Univese 10.1.2 on HP-UX 11.00.

Does anyone know how to fix this error?
I have verified that /usr/uv/bin/libxalan-cl_3.sl exists on our
system.

I remember I saw a soltuion to this problem a long time ago but for some
reason I could no longer find it through Google or other search engines.

The solution was to define ceratin environment variables for Unix shell
to include the absolute path of the shared library but I don't remember
what those variables are.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you.

RE: [U2][UV]confusing memory problem

Hi Andi

You may have been caught by the magicians trick, the action is not occurring
where you are looking.

I suspect the problem is actually in the program not an issue with database
and memory.

You are likely concatenating to a variable that is not being cleared, hence
it grows until it overflows memory. You might want to also look at
sequential reads and writes processes to do what I think you are doing.

Hope this gives you a pointer.

[U2] RE: U2 Users Digest V1 #1667

Hi Jason,

It's SHLIB_PATH

(And remember rgw.ini too if you need this to work from Redback - this
got us this week!)

RE: [U2] Error process XML files

We ran into such a situation way back, the problem was the unix
environment variable SHLIB_PATH was not being set ( /usr/uv/bin ) .
For user logins this can be done in your .profile but for other non-user
processes ( phantom , uv-odbc , uniobjects etc ) I believe that this
needs to be set before universe starts as part of the boot process.

[U2] CRLF vs. CR - unix printing

Hello,

I have been trying to research and resolve a problem on our new
development box (Linux Ubuntu) we're working on building for use with
Unidata. We're just about ready to migrate to the box with one small
issue. Unix printing is resulting the "stair-stepping" issue. We are
using the "raw" drivers with CUPS so that our HP printers will print
using the assigned default font & 16.67 pitch for our ERP application.
I believe there's a unix config file somewhere that needs tweaked to
fix this stair-stepping issue, but can't locate it.

Can anyone out there shed some light and help me before I go totally
"mad" and lose my mind? ;)

TIA,
Andy

RE: [U2][UV]confusing memory problem

Thanks for your hint

That was also my thinking, but:

I do the concatenating with 3 different variables, two of them are exactly the same code:

Temp1 = ""
Temp2 = ""

TempX = rDELI: importID :  <at> IM : CHANGE(ImportRec,   <at> AM,   <at> IM)

and I still get:
Temp1:
|2471DifferentialDE

Temp2:
|2471|2471Differential

 <at> IM =
rDELI= |  ,exactly it is CHAR(19)
importID = 2471

the length is in both cases right (62) and this two variables are only used there and in the
CRT:
IF Temp1 # Temp2 THEN
  CRT "T1=" : LEN(Temp1) : "[" : Temp1 : "]"
