Problem with the graph plugin for SQL Squirrel 3.0.3

Hi,

I cannot see the graph plugin even though it is listed as loaded when I display the SQuirreL SQL Client Plugin Summary. I'm running JDK 1.6 on Window XP Professional SP3. There are no entries in the log file to indicate that the plugin falis to load.
There are these entries in the log:

UserSettings safety switch option

Hi all,

I'm trying to import a CSV file via the SQuirrel 'Import file' option and
run into the following error: 'java.io.IOException: Maximum column length of
100,000 exceeded in column 1 in record 2. Set the SafetySwitch property to
false if you're expecting column lengths greater than 100,000 characters to
avoid this error.'
One of the 'colums' in the importfile contains byte data and therefore is
quite large. It causes the error mentioned above.

As the error message suggests I'm trying to change the SafetySwitch
property. Unfortunately I can't find that property anywhere. I tried to find
the property via the SQuirrel userinterface and looked in practically every
file in the '.squirrel-sql' directory, but haven't been able to find it
anywhere.

Can anybody please tell me how I can change the SafetySwitch property?

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

Sinterklaas

Hibernate plugin with annotations

It seems that no one is doing hibernate annotations without using EJBs, so I can’t seem to find instructions on how to set up my hibernate.cfg.xml file to use the annotations I have on my classes with the hibernate plugin.

I think I’ve done everything I can, but when I connect to the DB and hit my hibernate tab, it’s not showing any mapped classes. Help, please?

Thanks!

It can be done the following way:

AnnotationConfiguration annotationConfiguration = new AnnotationConfiguration();

annotationConfiguration.addAnnotatedClass(AnnoClass1.class);
annotationConfiguration.addAnnotatedClass(AnnoClass2.class);
...

annotationConfiguration.configure();
SessionFactory sessionFactory = annotationConfiguration.buildSessionFactory();

Though I admit that it is not so nice to add the annotated classes in such an
explicit way. Perhaps you will be able to find a way to read your annotated
classes from some configuration file of your project, e.g. your
hibernate.cfg.xml. Of course this would mean you have to use your own
SessionFactoryImpl provider in SQuirreL's Hibernate configuration.

More details on the above can be found here:
http://maven.nchovy.kr/hibernate/hibernate-annotations/hibernate-annotations-3.4.0.GA/doc/reference/en/html_single/

Hope this helps

Gerd

list drivers locks up squirrel

When I select a jar file and click list drivers, squirrel will freeze,
grab 100% of cpu for quite awhile, longer than I care to wait. So I
kill -9 it.

It doesn't seem to matter what jar I select before clicking list
drivers. I'm using 3.0.3 on kubuntu linux 9.10.

$ java -version

Squirrel DB2 driver not loading

I have installed and uninstalled Squirrel 3.0.3 about 8 times in 2 different machines, but I cannot get the DB2 driver to load, although that's the only optional plug-in I'm selecting.  I need help, please.  I'm running on Windows XP Professional SP3.  I am using the installer I downloaded, which is the file "squirrel-sql-3.0.3-install.jar".  The installation goes without error and it indicates that it's installing the DB2 driver as the 3rd step, but nothing.

When I open the app all the drivers, except for "JDBC ODBC Bridge" have the red "x" icon next to them.  If I double click on either of the "IBM DB2..." drivers I get the "Change Driver" window.  The Class Name shows "COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver", but if I click "OK" I get this message on the message area:

"Could not find class COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver in neither the Java class path nor the Extra class path of the IBM DB2 App Driver driver definition:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver"

Am I doing something wrong?  Please advise.

Thanks!

Re: Squirrel DB2 driver not loading

The optional plugins are not drivers! We are forbidden from shipping
commercial drivers due to their licensing terms and SourceForge's
hosting requirements. You will need to contact IBM to get the
appropriate driver jar file for your DB2 server. Of course, you will
still want to install the optional plugins that are relevant for your
database server.

I am the Administrator and cannot install squirrel-sql on directories which
