Back-end and Web Developer needed for Start-Up

Are you a developer that knows how to create the perfect database and has extensive web experience? Have you
been spending too many Friday nights researching clustered development, or how to perfect every line of
code? Are you a graphic designers dream?

We're looking for a rock-star Back-End and Web Developer that’s ready to immerse themselves in the
start-up experience. Someone who is willing to prove they have what it takes to step into the ring, and
follow through on what they say.

Our company is in stealth start-up mode with the ideas everyone wants, and we're looking for the perfect
match to help crunch some code. Our team is a small group of driven, high-level professionals already
working in the industry. We don't mind burning through nights and weekends to build the products, and the
company we're passionate about. There's no entitlement attitude in this bunch. Just a select few who know
what it means to work hard, and dream outside the box.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3-5 years experience as a senior-level developer with extensive
knowledge of Java/GlassFish, PHP, and PostgreSQL. The candidate must also be able to come up with and
implement solutions on their own, and be able to effectively communicate with all other team-members and
stakeholders on a daily basis.

Please email us at hr <at> chairseven.com - include information about yourself, your development work, your
resume, at least three professional references, and anything else you want to share. Then we'll be in touch!

[LOCATION] We would prefer telecommuting, but are open to other options.

Postgres & SQL Server DBA Needed Urgently

Hello folks,

A growing web to consumer company in the west Boston suburbs needs a Postgres & SQL Server DBA urgently.  The right candidate will have skill & experience including SQL, logical data model, physical schema layout and performance, stars, snowflakes, cubes, at least one OO language (Java or C++ preferred).  Previous experience as a developer is highly desired but not necessary.

Detailed requirements à

  1. Systems DBA focus on the physical aspects of database administration such as DBMS installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backups, restores, refreshes, performance optimization, maintenance and disaster recovery.

  2. Development DBA focus with the LAMP stack, triggers, stored procedures, Linux scripting, Perl is may be nice, custom ETL, OLTP, OLAP, DSS, dirty reads, locking, striping, data distribution, primary, 2nd & hash key management, data size (GB vs. TB) considerations, speed/performance is essential.

PostgreSQL  and/or SQL Server required, Oracle experience very relevant but alone won’t do it, a progressive history with Informix, DB2 or Sybase highly desired.

Please call me, Domenic

PostgreSQL Developer/DBA needed for 3-6 mo contract in west suburbs of Chicago

We have a client in the western suburbs that is seeking a PHP/PostgreSQL developer to create a web app for them. This is a smaller scale project; duration is probably going to be about 5 months. The client stated that they have the specs defined and are seeking someone to take over the development and rollout. The database has not been installed and setup, so the resource will need to know the database pretty well in addition to strong PHP skills. This will likely be a 1 man show.

Our client contact had previously been one of our employees and has since become a good client with whom we have worked several times. It is a quick qualification/interviewing process and we are hoping to engage someone in the next week if at all possible.

Thank you,
