Re: [NF] Dual display control options

That would do it - In my case I'd need to learn enough of a new
environment to handle the large screen display software. It seems like
there might be a possibility of running a flavor of Linux that could
drive the big screen and then run XP as a guest OS for the receptionist's
work. Would that be a stable situation or are we likely to have constant
issues? - Joe

RE: Bid board font size

Thanks Russell, now I see how to add a font.

The maximum points in vfp is 127, and at 72 points per inch the size in
inches is 1.7 inches. Anyone know of a font that has about 25 points per
inch.

And why in the heck is vfp setting a maximum fontsize?

A point is a unit - 1/72nd of an inch so asking for 25 points to the inch is
like asking for a mile to be 5000 yards long <g>

RE: Bid board font size

I guess I'm a little frustrated as I can't seem to come up with a way to
display data any larger than a couple inches. There have been many helpful
suggestion here, but I've not been able to implement any of them.

This may seem slightly obsessive compulsive, but once again I ask the
question, why does vfp limit the point size of data in a textbox?

SQL Server connection handle is invalid

I've got a user at one location reporting this error periodically. The app gets its handle on startup and
does not disconnect until it exits; at least as far as code is concerned. The connection info is read from a
connection that lives in a common DBC. As far as its properties are concerned, both idle and query values
are set to 0. Anyone know if there is some SQL Server (2000 in this case) setting that will drop a connection
on its own?

TIA

As always, post a message and figure out the answer shortly after hitting the send button. Found some code...

Go back to your business. Nothing to see here...

RE: Bid board font size

Jim,
In reports (.FRX) you can actually patch the font size into the reports file
for fonts greater than 127.

I found this out when I needed large fonts on box end labels and found the
same problem.

It may well be worth hacking a the scx file and patching in the font size as
required to see if it works.

Yes, I would also like to know why VFP has this limitation.
