Subscribing to a collection in Mirage

I can't see how users can subscribe to a collection using the Mirage interface.  Is there a config parameter to enable this functionality?

AFAIK, you should go to your Profile and choose from a drop-down list
there under "Subscriptions".

I haven't tried it, but if I were you I would try using some parts of
the form from the profile page, displaying it on collection pages and
hardcoding the current collection into the form. It shouldn't be too
hard, using only XSL.

DCAT mtg tomorrow

Apologies for the cross posting -

Please find the DCAT meeting agenda for tomorrow, Tuesday July 3 at 10:00am Eastern/14:00 UTC: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/cmtygp/DCAT+Meeting+Agenda+July+3%2C+2012

Anyone from the community is welcome to attended. Dial in instructions can be found at https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/cmtygp/DCAT+Conference+Call+Dial-in.

For anyone not familiar with the DSpace Community Advisory Team (DCAT) (https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/cmtygp/DSpace+Community+Advisory+Team), the group helps review the JIRA issues (https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS) classified as new feature requests for DSpace. The goal of the DCAT review is to help move the feature along by fleshing out requirements or ideas for implementation, as well as recruiting developers and other community members to work on the request. DCAT generally selects the new feature requests which appear to be of broad interest in the community. DCAT discussions are documented and are always open to the entire community for comment/feedback (https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/dsforum/DCAT+Discussion+Forum) or in JIRA directly (https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS).

Additionally, there is a DCAT Google Group mailing list for members (http://groups.google.com/group/DSpaceCommunityAdvisoryTeam), but it is mainly used for logistics. All material DCAT discussions are conducted either on the DCAT Discussion Forum or in JIRA. That said, DCAT Google Group is also open for anyone in the community to join.

If you have questions or are interested in becoming a DCAT member, please contact me at vhollister-db6tg5YPMqnNLxjTenLetw@public.gmane.org.

Tomcat and Java Update

Hi,
Just in case this could be of any help to someone.
I am running DSpace 1.8.1 on Windows XP.
Today I had a Java Update "proposal" to wich I said OK, so Java was very automatically updated on my computer.

Coincidentally, after that update, my Tomcat (5.5.35) would not start anymore. The Tomcat icon would show
up normally, but every time I tried to "start the service", it would not. I was always getting the red "Stop"
icon, instead of the green "play" button.

Long story short, the following change in Tomcat's configuration solved the problem:
In the Tomcat Configuration / Java Properties / Java Virtual Machine path
I had this path: C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\client\jvm.dll
which I changed to C:\program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_30\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll

That is, I switched from the updated or created "...jre6" folder to the "...jdk1.6.0_30" folder created
when installing Java for DSpace (the one defined in the environment variable JAVA_HOME).

Now it works.

I am not shure, but I suspect Java update changed my Tomcat configuration. Could this be the reason? I don't
know what was the old config.
Or maybe the update did not change Tomcat's config, but he does not "like" the new jvm.dll.
By the way, I wonder if this change could have bad effects on something else (I hope not).
Maybe old news to some of you, but I hope this could useful to somebody.

Sincerely yours,
Nicolas Rucks

Email Link in Dspace

Hi All,

I am wondering if it is possible to have an email link in the display page which when clicked will invoke an email client. Currently,  I have implemented the author’s  email as dc.contributor.authoremail(link) in the webui.itemdisplay.default directive in the dspace.cfg file.  Visit http://ir.uz.ac.zw/jspui/handle/10646/761

item-list.xsl in Mirage

I'm trying to make the browser result list icons for each bitstream in the item as part of the result, but  I see from doing:

        <h1><xsl:copy-of select="."/></h1>

inside     <xsl:template name="itemSummaryList-DIM">

that I don't get mets:file ( that section is empty ).  I really want to get the entire mets record to work with.  How can I change that?

Thank you!
Jose
