pagination showing files - xmlui theme question

I'm trying to find the way to establish some kind of pagination to show
the files.
I have in some items maybe 100 files and I don't want to show all in
only one page. Is it possible to make that pagination in xmlui? has
anyone tried it?

DSpace 1.6 Testathon starts Monday 12/7 - We need your help!

DSpace 1.6 is almost here. We're about to enter one of the final
phases of this release where we need YOUR help!

Starting this coming Monday, December 7, we begin the DSpace 1.6
Testathon, code-named the "Big Bug Hunt". Several members of the
DSpace community will host public instances of 1.6 for you to sign onto
and put 1.6 through its paces. If you would prefer, you are also welcome
to download the beta of 1.6 to install locally, or to test an upgrade of
your version 1.5.x test or development system.

Everyone is encouraged to join us on the "Big Bug Hunt." As a benefit,
you will get a preview of all the great new 1.6 features (batch metadata
editing, embargo, improved statistics and much more), while also doing
your part to help root out as many problems as possible before the
official release. We need everyone to join in and push 1.6 to its
limits, as there are so many new features that require user exploration
and lots of old features that have been improved.

The DSpace 1.6 Documentation
(http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/DSpace_1.6_Documentation) has also
been through a major revision. Everyone is asked to join in the
documentation review to make sure that it not only supports the new
features in 1.6, but also improves the guidance on DSpace overall.

More information on the DSpace 1.6 Testathon, the "Big Bug Hunt", and
how you can help report issues can be found here:

http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/DSpace_Release_1.6.0_Testathon_Page

So, if you can find some time early next week, please help us make

Email Parameter Customization

Hello, All~

I'm in the process of updating the text of DSpace emails, and I'd like to add parameters - is this possible?
For example, the change_password email has parameter {0}, which is a "special URL."  Is it possible to add a parameter for username, or date, or ????

Any help is appreciated!

~Caryn ~ ~ ~ change_password ~ ~ ~
# Email sent to DSpace users when they forget their password.

#

# Parameters: {0} is expanded to a special URL

#

# See org.dspace.core.Email for information on the format of this file.

Re: Email Parameter Customization

Hello Caryn,

yes this is possible. You got to change the email template and the source
which generates the email and uses the email template. In your example
this would be
[dspace-src]/dspace/config/emails/change_password and
[dspace-src]/dspace-api/src/main/java/org/dspace/eperson/Accountmanager.java

Then you got to run (assuming you are using 1.5.x) mvn package and ant
update and redeploy the application.

Hope that helps

Asset store cleanup failing

We are running DSpace 1.5.2 with Postgresql 7.3.  I have been running $dspace/bin/cleanup which happily states:
Cleaning the asset store
Cleanup completed

But files have not been cleaned from the assetstore, nor have the deleted=true bitstreams been deleted from the db table.

I've checked to see if it might be related to http://jira.dspace.org/jira/browse/DS-197 , but none of the primary_bitstream_id > 0 bundles are related to bitstreams marked for deletion.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Any help appreciated,
Anjanette

Re: How to move collection

Thanks Claudia and Oriol,
I  moved collection from one community to other.

Hello Mallikarjun,

hmm, what did you exactly do and in what way didn't it work?

The sql statement below will move a collection from one community to another.

The statement Oriol Olivé posted will map a collection to another community.

Hello Mallikarjun,

you can do this dirctly on the database. Make sure you got everything
backed up.

The command is:

update community2collection set community_id=NewCommunityID where
community_id=OldCommunityID and collection_id=CollectionID;

Then you got to re-index.

Hope that helps

Re: Edit License in Dspace

Hello Baseer,

the default license can be edited via the admin UI. Log in as dspace
administrator to your instance. In the admin section you got an option
to edit the license. Collection specific licenses which supersede the
default license can be changed via the editing of a collection.

These changes will not apply to licenses already granted during
submission. These licenses are stored within an item in the bundle LICENSE.

Changing already granted submission licenses might not be such a good
idea. There are legal issues to be considered. The submitter granted the
license stored and not anything else.

Hope that helps

Claudia

Technical Questions

Hello all,

First of all this is Imad Musleh from the Lebanese American University, I am an IT project manager.
We are looking for an Institutional repository system and we are still in the initial phase, however I have 2 questions and I hope you will have answers for.

1) Can we use MYSQL as database (although I read that your system runs on Oracle and Postgresql)?

2) Can we 2 tier installation (database on a server and application on another server)?

Thanks and Best Regards,
