Last Call For Papers
Workshop on Conceptual Modeling for Geographic Information Systems (CoMoGIS2004)

In Conjunction with ER2004, November 8-12, 2004, Shanghai, China

CoMoGIS2004 Website: http://www.cs.fudan.edu.cn/er2004/callfor/comogis2004.htm
ER004 Website: http://www.cs.fudan.edu.cn/er2004/

Purposes and Scopes:

The recent advances in remote sensing and GPS technologies have increased the production
and collection of geo-referenced data, thus requiring the rapid development and the wide
deployment of various geographic information systems. With the popularity of World Wide Web
and the diversity of GISs on the Internet, geographic information can now be available
via personal devices anytime and anywhere. Nowadays GIS is emerging as a common information
infrastructure, which penetrates into more and more aspects of our society, and converges
with most areas in the IT scenario, such as office automation, workflow, digital libraries,
Web searching, virtual reality, etc. This has given rise to new challenges related to
the development of conceptual models for GIS. Recently several new approaches have been applied
in the development of geo-spatial systems to accommodate new users requirements.

ECDM 2004 - Last Call for Papers (Extended Deadline)

Due to many requests, the ECDM 2004 submission deadline has been extended to Monday 7 June 2004 (strict deadline).
However, prospective authors are encouraged to submit an abstract to

FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS

Third International Workshop on
Evolution and Change in Data Management
(ECDM 2004)

Shanghai, China,
November 2004

to be held in conjunction with the
23rd International Conference on Conceptual Modelling, ER 2004

http://www-db.deis.unibo.it/events/ECDM04/

Change is a fundamental but sometimes neglected aspect of information and database systems. The
management of evolution and change and the ability for database, information and knowledge-based
systems to deal with change is an essential component in developing and maintaining truly useful
systems. Many approaches to handling evolution and change have been proposed in various areas of data
management and this forum seeks to bring together researchers and practitioners from both more
established areas and those from emerging areas to look at this issue. The third ECDM workshop (the first
two ECDM workshops were held with ER'99 in Paris, France, and with ER'02 in Tampere, Finland) will deal
with the manner in which change can be handled, and the semantics of evolving data and data structure in
computer based systems.

Workshop topics include, but are not limited to:

CIDR 2005 Call for Papers

CIDR Call for Papers
Second Conference on Innovative Data Systems Research
Asilomar, CA. January 4-7, 2005
http://www-db.cs.wisc.edu/cidr/

Purpose: CIDR offers a venue for innovative data systems architectures, as well as a prestigious
publication opportunity. CIDR does not compete with the established conferences presenting rigorous
treatises in established areas; rather its goal is to air radically new ideas. Such papers are typically
speculative or are system evaluations. The visionary papers usually lack rigorous frameworks,
simulations of performance, or prototype implementations but present a radical departure from
conventional approaches that enables new applications. The prototype descriptions generally are a
detailed report on successes and mistakes. The other major DBMS conferences usually reject such
submissions because they are not scientific. However, these are often the very papers that offer long
term value to the field, and should be widely disseminated.

The conference is single-tracked. Proceedings will be published both as a website and in book form. The
conference runs every-other year, typically in the fall or winter during non-HTPS years.

Scope: Papers are invited on innovative and visionary approaches to data systems architecture and
applications. Topics of interest include database systems, application servers, messaging systems,
workflow, warehousing, data mining, data visualization, small-scale and large-scale systems, portal
systems, and architectures that are particularly manageable, available, or scaleable. Especially
encouraged are architectures for new application areas, and innovative data and system integration
solutions. Also encouraged are papers on organizing and querying information on the web, large scale
information fusion, knowledge discovery systems, data privacy and trust, peer-to-peer data
management, and the integration of text, data, code and streams. Lastly, "war stories" on overcoming
common problems are welcome.

Organization: The conference is organized by the 27 people listed below who peer-review the submissions.
The organizing committee is a continuing organization with rotating committee members. The conference

CFP: DATA STREAMS TRACK

CALL FOR PAPERS: ACM SAC 2005, DATA STREAMS TRACK
http://www.lsi.us.es/~aguilar/ds/

ACM SYMPOSIUM ON APPLIED COMPUTING, SAC 2005
March 13-17, 2005, Santa Fe, New Mexico, US
http://www.acm.org/conferences/sac/sac2005/

For the past nineteen years, the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing has
been a primary gathering forum for applied computer scientists, computer
engineers, software engineers, and application developers from around the
world. SAC 2005 is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Applied
Computing, and is hosted by the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, Socorro, NM.

DATA STREAMS TRACK

The rapid growth in information science and technology in general and the
complexity and volume of data in particular have introduced new challenges for
the research community. Databases are growing inces-santly and, in many
cases, we need to extract some sort of knowledge from this continuous stream of
data. The goal of the track is to convene researchers who deal with decision
rules, decision trees, asso-ciation rules, clustering, filtering, pre-pro-cessing,
post-processing, feature selection, visualization techniques, etc. from data
streams.

Topics include but are not restricted to:

Data Stream Models
Clustering from Data Streams
Decision Trees from Data Streams
Association Rules from Data Streams

ISI Special Issue on Information System Quality

Revue Ingénierie des Systèmes d Information
Special Issue on Information Systems Quality

Scope of the Issue
Quality is emerging as a key issue for information systems researchers and practitioners. Information
systems quality may be classified according to three complementary dimensions :
- The object for which quality has to be insured. Quality encompasses data quality, information quality,
systems quality, models and methods, etc.
- The subject considered. Ongoing research includes theoretical aspects (quality definition, quality
model) as well as technical aspects (methods and approaches for quality measurement and/or improvement
and/or assessment).
- The context under consideration. Most approaches focus on specific environments, such as web site
quality, data warehouse quality, COTS quality, etc.
This special ISI issue is devoted to present papers related both to theoretical and practical aspects of
information systems quality. We invite authors to submit papers that address the sub-themes described
below from a wide range of perspectives.

Topics of Interest
Particular topics of interest include, but are not limited to :
- Quality definition and concepts
- Data quality
- Data cleansing
- Information quality
- Information systems quality
- Software quality
- Model quality
- Requirements quality
- Design quality
- Code quality
- Test quality
