the log.zip file in the robot local dir is not updated after a offcontest
match.

Moreover this file is not present in /test/gollum

AI contest

In the past chatterbots were suppose to just be able to trick a user
into thinking that they were talking to a real person. But now that
they are better known it has become a race between who can trick the
user and who can get the chatterbot to mess up.

however I have noticed that in doing the contest that various methods
have been used to create chatterbots. I will try a contest not done
before. The purpose of this contest will be two fold, 1. to determine
the best method of AI creation and or areas that each method needs to
improve upon and who makes the best conversationalist.

This way the chatterbot community can get into the serious business of
creating a more life like chat bot that companies could use on their
website.

In this contest botmasters will take the core personality and data
based and attempt to tranfer it into at least 3 different bot
programs, perhaps ultrahal or the pf or wendells talk bot or alice etc..
The prize money would be from a percentage of the sponsorship money,
all contestants would have to display a banner code of all the
sponsors on their site in order to enter and the winner would have to
display the sponsor who donated the most money on their site for one
year. The winner however will also be able to advertise their bot and
method for hire on the sponsors sites as well. There would be a small
entry fee of 5.00 usa money or comparable currency of the contestant
for money to be divided up between the judges. a small fraction of the
money from sponsors would be used to pay for the monthly site fees.

a list of the money made and where it went will be posted on the

Re: Reset problem

Hi,

You are right. Apparently the world file got saved in the middle of a
simulation. I don't know why and apparently it already happened once. I
fixed that and hope it won't occur again (I also changed the write
permissions of the world file so that shouln't happen any more theorically).

Using Eclipse for java programming...?

Hi all,

I'm new to the roboka contest, and I'd like to know if any of you have
already used the Eclipse platform for programming. I've already used it for
others little java programms, and it helped me a lot.
But I wasnt able to have it working for the competition...

Any advise would be very appreciated!

Thanks a lot, and... see you soon on the bottom of the hall of fame... (if
it ever accept to compile something for me ;)

Re: Using Eclipse for java programming...?

This might help you.

1) Rightclick on your judoka project and choose proporties from the
menu.
2) Select "java Build path" to the right
3) Click on the "add external Jars" button
4) Browse and select "controller.jar" from the lib directory in the
webots dirctory.

This should include the webots api.

If you want to compile into your Judoka0 directory in webots you can
execute the batfile (namned something like makeit.bat)

javac -classpath "C:\Programs\Webots\lib\Controller.jar;." -O *.java

echo OFF
xcopy . C:\Programs\Webots\controllers\Judoka0\ /E /Y

1) place the file in your eclipse project folder.
2) click on the run button and choose "external tools" from the menu
3) click "add"
4) Location should be your project folder
eg: "C:\Programs\eclipse\workspace\Judoka\makeit.bat"
(if your project is namned Judoka)
5) Working directory is: ${workspace_loc:/Judoka}
6) compile by choosing the script from the run menu, the judoka
files will then be copied into your webots directory.
