I think this from l505 will work:
http://lists.freepascal.org/lists/fpc-announce/2007-February/000536.html

but are there any units that come default with fpc that can do this?

And I'm not, the leak is in the LCL TLabel component. Sorry for the noise.

FPC on SPARC/Linux

Just a brief note to say that using the distributed 2.0.0 binaries I was able
to compile and install 2.0.4. Normal minor problems with a couple symlinks and
fpc.cfg, but nothing's obviously broken since I was playing with it last Summer.

2.0.4 or 2.1.4?

None that I am aware of.

Michael.

2.0.4 for the moment I'm afraid, since that's the one that I was reasonably
certain I could get working. I'm currently looking at Lazarus for i386 and
SPARC using the same compiler and sources in both cases, assuming that I can
get somewhere with that I'll try to progress to 2.1.4.

Lazarus for SPARC has a bug that doesn't occur on i386, this is likely an
endian issue but could possibly be a compiler bug.

All on Linux, I'm not in a position to check the situation with a (recent)
Solaris.

I created a program called GetLinks in a couple minutes:
http://opensvn.csie.org/pspcgi/general-utilities/parser/html/demo/getlinks.pas

Latest html parser files in progress:
http://opensvn.csie.org/pspcgi/general-utilities/parser/html/

p.s. It is a little heavy handed to create and free two classes just to do a
simple task like get some urls from a web page. Some day I'll make a simpler
even lighter version of that parser for quick and dirty usage, but still keep
the old one maybe. But whatever works, works!

fpcanvas and FloodFill()

Hi,

Still trying to implement fpcanvas as the bases classed for fpGUI.
What is the function of...?

TFPCustomCanvas = class
....
  procedure FloodFill (x,y:integer);
...

How is it supposed to differ from Canvas.Clear() and
Canvas.Rectangle() which can both handle filling of a rectangle?

Regards,
  - Graeme -

It fills the canvas (in all directions) till it encounters a different
color which differs from the starting color. You can use this to fill
irregular shapes.

Michael.
