problems with apache?

Hello,

I installed campsite.
It seems that database is OK, php too, but I can't see any starting page.

How can I start with campware if I don't have my own domain?
Can I start with writing something like
http://domain.com/~test/campsite/html/admin/ in the browser?

In answer I get a blank page ().
Is it because of 'DOCUMENT_ROOT'?

How can I configure httpd.conf if I don't have virtual server?

Could anybody help me?

Re: problems with apache?

Please edit the file /usr/local/campsite/etc/campsite/campsite-vhost.conf

Replace $SERVER_ADDRESS and $SERVER_NAME with appropriate values. Include this
file in the main apache configuration file. Restart apache.

No, campsite does not support this kind of URL; you must set a separate domain
for Campsite publication: http://domain.com

problems with templates

This message was sent from: Campsite Support.
<http://www.campware.org/phorum_en/read.php?f=8&i=291&t=291>
----------------------------------------------------------------

I installed campsite at last.
But now during configuration new problems appeared.
I can't see anything while trying to see preview.
It seems I campsite doesn't see templates (I used demo-example.tar.gz).
Another example:
After creating a new folder for templates (by using Campside interface) it
is seen outside the campside but in Campside I get information "No
folder".
I can't upload any template. I get answer "You didn't select a file".

What should I do?
How can I try to solve the problems and see any published article at
last?

Thanks for answers last time
Pawel (from Poland)

Re: problems with templates

Hi Pawel,

Please let me know what campsite version did you install? 2.2.2 is the latest
and contains some critical bug fixes.

Download the demo package from
http://www.campware.org/look/campware/download/demo-package.tar.gz

I can't say exactly what is the problem with your Campsite install; one reason
could be that the HTML directory does not have proper owner/rights. What is
your apache user? Is it the HTML directory owner?

If you agree and give me temporary access I could log in to your system and
debug Campsite install.

Regards,
Mugur
